If I have been a bit direct with anyone it is the fixed-grin brigade who say things like "oh I'm better for it." Yes, people have said that, it is just sickening and I am not going to sit here and be patted on the head and told it's fine and what am I worrying about. People do very much pretend...

Yes, they have totally done all those things. I have not insulted them nor told them they are idiots. Two of the medical people I have met here absolutely are idiots, but telling them that right to their faces didn't seem like a very good idea. They take me a lot more seriously when I dress up...

Oh, is that what I'm doing. And no, I do not want a pump, I feel like enough of a freak as it is.

Never heard of him. This is stupid and you will think I am an idiot, but since I am now basically reduced to being a robot designed to hold a cellphone near my own arm, it occurs to me that it HAS to be possible to make this automatic... and I'm not just talking about some crazy kludged up...

Oh yes, because everyone's been lovely to me.

I know that this is a very popular attitude on this forum but please do not project that on everyone else. I think you must have been an amazingly unambitious person if that is true.

    Question - strange drained feeling?

I have been constantly feeling I have been constantly feeling tired for eight months, the medical profession have told me I'm not though so I guess I was mistaken, sorry I bothered you.

I think you're a lot of things but I won't mention what they are because it will give the moderators a lot of work.

    Question - strange drained feeling?

Night of the living thread. As far as I am aware "strange drained feeling" is just what having diabetes (or being on insulin at least) feels like. You are taking drugs specifically designed to remove all the energy from your blood, personally it makes me feel exactly as you would expect it to...

You do realise that you completely negated what your own point? I should fight like Ripley in Aliens, except you can't do what Ripley in Aliens did. Well done. I don't think that's what you mean to say, but what you actually said is right because THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT you cannot win, there is...

    Life with diabetes

This is what really scares me to death from a work perspective, I have a job where I have to remember to do a lot of things, one day soon I will make a major mistake because everything you ever do is just overridden by worrying about what the last test was, what the next test will say, how...

That is also my worst possible fear. There is a difference between forgetting something and never having known it. If I ever got to a point where I had forgotten what real life is supposed to be like I would just be done at that point.

I figured out the principle. It doesn't actually work very well because everything is so random. But the principle is simple enough. I have no idea why people need to go on a course in order to learn how to divide things by fifteen.

Be happy. I would much rather have got it when I was 2. If I could take a pill to forget what life was like before, I'd do it in a second.

    Life with diabetes

I figured out the ratio thing before they really wanted me to, during the "stick it in if you want to live" meeting. It's not exactly rocket science. It doesn't really WORK, of course, but the IDEA is easy enough. I am not sure if i actually do want to live, though. I am a walking talking...

    Oh great. That's OK then.

Sorry what? What is going to happen to me in 8 years? Well seven and a quarter?

I don't want to be nasty but that is not a great advertisement for whatever your approach is.

Yeah, but it would be nice to know if the driving limit is, what is it, five or ten. Or whether it's actually necessary to take insulin, as we've had medics arguing it isn't. Or which way is up. Or what colour the sky is. You'd have thought we could figure THAT stuff out. But no.
