    pizza :(

Er, dude, it's a once a month treat if you're healthy. With diabetes it pizza sounds like slow suicide from what I have read.

Great HbA1c result but got told off for it...

Stupid question. Who defines what's "good." One of the things I have found out since last september is that really nobody seems to have any idea how diabetes works... there is so much randomness that you can make anything you could say seem right. It's like horoscopes, if you make it totally...

Great HbA1c result but got told off for it...

People tell me off for doing that.

Great HbA1c result but got told off for it...

Let's think up some new slogans for diabetes specialists I'LL GO FIRST. "Defining a new low point in the quality of medical practice" "Making all other fields of medicine feel better about themselves" "Toying with the already-fragile psychology of really sick people"

Type 1 and adjustments at work

I'm sort of trying to imagine imposing all that on the sort of work I do.

I’m going back to my old ways[emoji17]

That is the least of my problems at this point.

So it's been two and a half years

I started feeling like that in the first few weeks. The first few days, you're like, OK, I can handle this, must get on top of it, solve the problem then carry on as normal, then you realise there is no way to "handle it" you cannot solve the problem and there is no carrying on. My career is...

    My insulin is not working.

...and another one for the list. Truly is there anything that can go wrong with a human being that is not a likely side effect of diabetes?

    Finger pricking rant

Crikey what's going on? Not ALLOWED any? They would have to physically fight me, if I found myself at 15 because of someone else's decision I would be very very close to doing physical violence to them, do they not get what is going on? Oh no wait of course they don't they're doctors and they...

    Best Diet for Type 1

I really don't get why people keep marking my posts as "funny." I am not usually trying to be funny when I post here, in fact I think I've only deliberately tried to be funny once and hardly anyone even noticed. Possibly this is because being sick for the last eight months makes it a bit...

    Exercising with Diabetes (any advice???)

I don't think you can be a "perfectly healthy T1." Perfectly healthy people are not forced to take horrible awful drugs on pain of death.

    Exercising with Diabetes (any advice???)

And for every 90 year old how many dead people are there. The last thing I need is anyone lecturing me about a sense of mortality.

    Exercising with Diabetes (any advice???)

45? 55? It's not exactly good any way you look at it.

    Exercising with Diabetes (any advice???)

the options seem to be 1 Eat lots of carbs, take huge risks with the future, maybe able to run now, die at 35 of complications 2 Eat very few carbs, have better blood sugar but die at 35 of heart failure due to total lack of exercise.

    Auto immune

oh great yet more things to add to the enormous folder of awful things that are now in my future.

    Diabetes Camps

I haven't dared touch alcohol since diagnosis, the thought is terrifying. And yes it would be a nice idea to get absolutely lost in the bottom of a bottle but no way.

    Diabetes Camps

I think I just find it a bit weird that it's an experience anyone would want to share. It's like, would you want to go to a broken leg club for people with broken legs? Why would you want to sit there going ooh, look at me, I've got the same horrible condition you have, look at me "twiddle with...

    Health Anxiety

There almost isn't a way to discuss this without being told you're being too negative but this is basically my situation too. They tell you to learn as much as you can, but if you read about diabetes all you find is more and more lists of things that can go wrong with you because of it. From...
