Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

If you’ve problems using your phone it’d be helpful to know details of the operation system version number (iOS or Android version).

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

This looks like a good way forward. I recently pointed out the problems that their lax way of confirming compliance causes for users, but their response seemed to show they hadn’t read my email with any care and they just trotted out their usual “you mustn’t upgrade until compliance has been...

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

This is the first time that I have been able to identify the iOS as the probable cause of any issues but it may have been lurking behind the scenes previously. I haven't used an Android phone since using the Libre system but I suspect the same apples there as Abbott also specify the phones and...

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

Quick update. I see that Abbott has reissued its compatibility list (seems to be dated April 2025) and it now goes up to iOS 18.3.2. I now have a reconditioned iPhone 13 with iOS18.3 so I'm not updating until Abbott confirm compatibility with any newer iOS version.

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

And as I have said twice, we need better communication from Abbott. The compatibility document seems to have been last updated in February. Edited for spelling typo

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

As stated above, my phone is an iPhone 8. It is now on the latest iOS compatible with that particular phone (iOS 16.7.11). I noticed that SpitTheDog1963 stated above the the support desk has stated that iOS 18.4.1 is the cause of STD63’s problems. Again, I think we need better communications...

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

Yes, I agree entirely. The front line support staff are no doubt doing all they can with the information provided to them but they just can’t provide the support needed for users to move forward. I’ve now established that refurbished iPhones are usually sold with iOS updated to latest version...

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

Okay, to be clearer, the reader that I received from the support team three weeks ago does. It has a blue face with the wording ‘Freestyle Libre 2’. In settings you can set the alarms and adjust the levels for high and low alarms. I needed to start the sensor with the reader for it to work. If...

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

I hope that it continues to work for you but iOS 18.4.1 is not in the compatibility table. My experience with a non compatible iOS version has been intermittent success. I honestly hope it works for you.

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

Admitted this is true, but also consider the catch22 when buying a new phone that will have an operating system that is ahead of Librelink compatibility and no assurance that Librelink will catch up.

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

Hi, just to reassure you, the reader does give you high and low alarms, also the lost communication alarm if the reader is out of contact with the sensor. It’s just far less convenient having to carry two items. The reader is also more clunky than the phone - needs a hard press to get it to...

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

Hi, I have been using LibreLink on my Apple iPhone 8 for at least two years and all has been well until recently. I have had a number of sensors fail to transmit the Bluetooth signal to the phone, This finally led to failures in January, February, March and April! Abbott have been good in...

    Reliability of Libre 2

It seems some users have significant problems, whilst others have only occasional issues. We obviously let Abbott know and usually return the defective device. Given the variance of success in using the sensors I would expect Abbott to find some pattern to those with frequent failures but I’ve...

    Reliability of Libre 2

Just to add, I am using the latest version of the Libre app and iOS 16.7.10.

    Reliability of Libre 2

Hi, I have used Libre2 for probably a couple of years now but I am finding that the Bluetooth connection to my iPhone 8 is unreliable, and this problem seems to be getting worse. I am having to contact Libre support for something like 50% of the sensors I use. They are very good about it and...

    Type 3 / Type 3C

The thing about owning the problem is that you need information to base your decisions on. When I ask how many carbs are in a set meal, so that I can own my responsibility to manage my diabetes, I’m usually told about the calories. When I explain I am referring to carbs they have no idea, even...

    Conflicting Information from DSN's

I've been following your posts and sympathise with the frustration caused by 'experts' disagreeing with each other in their advice to you (shame we can't get them in a room and let them thrase it out!). I'm pleased that you now have some firm advice on the way forward. Best wishes for the future.

    My Sugr Vs Dario

I see that Dario has just released an update to the Android app which includes the facility to input the 'Duration of Insulin Action' which can be set to 3.5, 4, 4.5 or 5 hours. There is a warning that any change should be made in consultation with your support specialists. The version number...

    My Sugr Vs Dario

Hi, I contacted Dario yesterday and spoke to the UK Technical Suppoort Team. They told me that the Dario app assumes the insulin remains active in the body for five hours. My Sugr has a box to input your particualr insulin lifetime; I have this set to four houirs on the advice of my DSN. I...

    My Sugr Vs Dario

Hi, first time post. Type 3c following severe pancreatitis. I have been using 'My Sugr' to calculate insulin requirements and I have recently had an HBA1c result of 6.8%. I have spoken to my support team and they have suggested that I look at the 'Dario' tester as this combines testing and...
