Medication - cant live with it, can't live without it...

Wish I'd known that when I was a student! lol It's hard to tell whether the 'good news' around Met is genuine or 'promotional' in nature? I'm going to go with it for a while (until next MOT in about 3 months). Then come off until next one.

    Is this hypo territory?

It's a tad bit weird to be honest. Not very long ago my levels were never low enough, now they have occasionally become too low! (Well it was only the once mind you). What had happened was that I just couldn't afford strips for a while and wasn't sure if I was over. Plus to be honest, I find...

Medication - cant live with it, can't live without it...

Well, I've wimped out and got back on Met for the moment even if on a minimal dose. A question occurred to me earlier (yes, another one - sorry!). Now I remember being told I would be referred to a specialist and dietitian after initial dx. I was told that I would be referred after a 3 month...

    Is this hypo territory?

Thanks for the advice guys. I've not been driving or doing anything potentially dangerous so it's okay. I also notice I haven't had any noticeable effects as of yet. When I started low carbing I had 'false hypos' at the mid 5s and was doing all manner of silly things.... Seem a bit more...

    Is this hypo territory?

This morning I had my lowest ever reading at fasting (3.9). I restarted Met over a week ago and am on 1 x 500 mg, taken with main evening meal. I did this to give me more 'wiggle room' for eating nice stuff over xmas. My question is: Is 3.9 on fasting dangerously low or getting close?

Accucheck Nano E7 errors - help!

Thanks for that. Yes, I was using new strips each time btw. Did teh thing with taking the batteries out for twenty seconds and will test in a bit (@ 1 hour PP). It's a shame I wasted those strips and I hope those guys replace them. Got hold of the Nano manual and am posting it in case anyone...

Accucheck Nano E7 errors - help!

I just opened a new pack of Aviva test strips and have got E7 errors 3 times in quick succession. I could have sworn it also briefly said E6 briefly on the first test failure. Anyone know what is going on? Are the strips 'clapped out' or is it the machine that reads them? I feel gutted because...

    How does T2 Progress?

I'm really glad this thread was started. It's forced me to face some things I've been dithering with since diagnosis, square in the face. You know, I WILL now take this thing as it comes! Yes, right now it might generally be under control through diet. But I will face up to the fact that...

    How does T2 Progress?

By reading this thread I've learned that some of those feelings I have regarding having the condition in my mid to late 30s actually aren't as uncommon as it seems at times. Hell, it seems like a whole bunch of us are going through similar emotions. What can we say in the face of highly...

    Advice re continual weight loss

I had a similar problem but seem to have stabilised a bit since the earlier rapid weight loss. Try adding a hand full of almonds with every other meal for a while and see if that helps. It may help to soak them overnight and peel them. Or use almond meal. I started doing this as I had read...

    My first hypo

I'm med free right now, but I'm wondering how long that will last? What islet cells I do have left are likely to slowly deteriorate over the next few years so I'll have to take meds then. Glica seems aggressive. Can anyone remind us how it works? Unless I'm mistaken is this one no the one...

    My first hypo

Was there any change in your diet/lifestyle that preempted the hypo BB? I mean, I have more of an issue with high readings than low. I'm just wondering if this could change suddenly? What have your figures been like prior to the hypo?

    Bitter Melon/Momordica charantia/Kugua/Goya in dishes

Thought I'd post this to conclude my personal findings with bittergourd. I've found that the darker green variety does indeed have hypoglycemic properties. However I did note that there is variance in results with some changes being dramatic and some more subtle. I presume this may be down to...
