Honestly now , how often do you change your lancet

Every time I test, unless run out. I think I have 6 on at a time though, just click for new one so it’s pretty easy to keep a fresh one for each test.

Bolus ratio keeps changing, exhausted with it all!

Yes! Mine have just changed again I feel it’s just as get good levels boom it all starts to go up or down and need to adjust again. My nurse said (by my awful latest hba1c) that I am probably now making very little insulin. So it’s changed in the past few months again. I’m also v sensitive to...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

72, up a lot in 3 months, it’s the worst result I’ve ever had

    Type 1 Sleeping problems

Yes! Felt like I hardly slept last night then awake from crack of dawn, dreaming. Think must be thinking and minds working but bodies tired hehe. I have higher blood sugars at the mo, so could be connected. Bit annoying...as getting more and more tired! Maybe it’s a time of year thing...weather...

Same had mine 2 weeks ago, never seen it as efficient! No waiting, no others and out within what felt like seconds. ☺️ Hopefully it stays like that for all future flu clinics. Brilliant you had a good speedy experience too.

Hello all, hope everyone’s well and keeping dry in these showers! Good for the garden I guess! I had my hba1c results today, and it’s my worst result in 4 years....feeling really despondent. Been on insulin since March, feel like I’m not doing very well at this whole carb counting, dosing, daily...

    Pregnancy

I had gestational with both my children and am now type 1. I had insulin with my last pregnancy and was looked after really well by a great team! Saw specialist diabetes nurses at the hospital, diabetes consultant and a consultant. As the pregnancy progressed, had growth scans and lots of checks...

    Intermittent fasting low blood sugar

4 is the floor for type 1s, it is the lower end of range. Chocolate is slow to treat levels though with the fat, so jelly baby, haribo etc will rise you up. Apple or something is a small carb slow release snack if needed when worried going too low. Well done though on your success, sounds like...

Rising BG after exercise, how long until this stops?

6 is a good number to be at, and huge congrats on loosing weight. Rowing will raise you, it’s intense. But the thing to remember is you drop back down. Walking lowers me nice and gradually most of the time, hiit will raise me, gardening lowers me fast after an hour...yourll notice what works...

Mind you, if I have to do any more training on how to wash my hands, which seems to have got into every variation of training, relevant or not, there may be an explosion! Oh my gosh, well it sounds like you’ve cracked it, hopefully they’ll stop trying to reiterate it all the time. I think it...

Won't ask (family friendly forum and all that) but won't put it to the test either. Reeperbahn is over 3 hours by car, Schiphol almost 2 but pretty sure they won't let me to the runway for an adventurous injection. So I went for the smaller adventure of injecting in my bum, and I must conclude...

    HbA1c tests changed

As a type 2 I was yearly until on meds, then it was 3 months to see how they where working. Should say...I totally get your concern! Far easier to keep on track when know average number. Plus must be cheaper for nhs the cost of a blood test, versus complication costs or medications?! I’m type 1...

Is it possible for a blood test to be wrong?

Ask the gp for the test results and whether a cpeptide test and anti gad is being done? As these take a few weeks for the results. These tests help determine type 1. They’d check for ketones if she had blood sugars. I’d go along the lines of you know your child best, if you really feel not...

I eat potaotes lots of them

I’m going to wade in and say...I like potatoes too! But they don’t seem to like diabetics! A baked potato could be say 19 cubes of sugar ... compared to a can of coke 7 cubes...but the humble potato has fibre, potassium B6 etc. I have sweet potatoes if I can choose, and take insulin...

Oh lower? Not tried that, as was advised top, which is fiddly and can hurt if get angle wrong, despite it being a nice fatty area.

Hehe, I’m having meatballs and pasta for dinner...so I think I’ll need to use all the available fat areas for injecting to have a sugar reading that’s close to normal before bedtime!

When freestyle libre shows a fast down arrow what to you do?

Ah will do thanks wasnt sure about that before. So far it’s showing a huge rise, first day kids went back to school after 1/2 year off, so I’m thinking more stressed than I thought! I do find if I’ve clipped it on something, car seat, door frame then it’s def more inaccurate, as it’s not quite...

Ah that’s interesting, wonder why some people are told to try arms and others not? Or is it really a case of anywhere being fine..human pin cushion? Arms I associate with jabs but probably quite a practical place to use, especially when out.

When freestyle libre shows a fast down arrow what to you do?

Ah that is a shame, I know what you mean, I self fund and use occasionally. The last one I wore was great it seemed very in line with my finger test results, but the one before I got so fed up with it being 2-3 out! Makes it pointless wearing, and I removed it a few days before it was finished...
