    Insulin Pumps - The cannula?

mines from roche for the spirit pump, called the tenderlink. You just stick it in but at 45 degs then pull out the needle and it leaves behind the inserted teflon tube. You then peel off the 2 backings parts and stick it down on your skin. Pretty easy. Think must've put one in too shallow...

This is unfortunately pretty common! Check first using the test solution for your meters, then carry out the test!!!! What does my head in with these manufacturers is their after care support! I have one of the One Touch Ultra smart machines which you are supposed to link up to your PC...

Exercise and rising BG - confused!

when you exercise your body will provide itself with glucose. this will raise BG levels somewhat temporarily. I tend to be high for about 3 to 4 hours then it plummets and I'll need to eat something as my muscles have taken all the available glucose for munchies.

Sarah, I totally agree with you. Having had type 1 for over 30 yrs myself, and now having complications as retinopathy, I also think the support from the NHS is lacking. However - and this was more aimd at newbies rather than the comments you made, many new diagnosed diabetics come on here...

...you also have a chance of beng led down the garden path or along another dangerous route! Be advised - the web has information on what has worked for others - may not work for you and certain meds may work against others....thats why docs are paid so much!!! They know this, we dont. I...

    opportunity to go on pump....

Should I though?? Heres a few of my thoughts: My control is not great and has never been. HBA1C usually between 8-13. The 8 score is rubbish as its an average of bouncing - thats all! I have retinopathy and thats my biggest concern now. I like the ideas behind the pump but have the...
