    Prison officer

I believe this is one job we can not do :( It may be down to the prisons discretion though so it’ll still be worth continuing just in case they allow you to do it, just make sure you do tell them. I guess if an emergency were to happen and you were hypo it could be dangerous. Good luck, I...

    Skin tac alternative

Found out from my GP yesterday that skin tac wipes aren’t available on the NHS and they’re too expensive for me to fund myself. Does anyone have anything similar that they get in the NHS? My pump no longer sticks to my stomach since having my daughter so I’ve lost a large area of pump sites :(

Has anyone had there canula come out when it is hot as the sticky bit had come away with sweating?

Not personally but I know someone that it happens to on a daily basis in the summer. I think he did the same as you and put tape over it. Nightmare!

    SWEET TOOTH

You can get sugar free sweets although they’re not as nice of normal ones. Have a look when you do your food shop and have a look at the labels. Are the sweets/chocolates he likes available in smaller packets? I would avoid diabetic chocolate though. Not nice at all and can have laxative...

    T1 and pregnancy

Thank you, was stressful at the time. I didn’t like pregnancy at all, worst 37 weeks of my life but totally worth it in the end. I’m putting myself through it again so it can’t have been that bad :)

    Cannulas- Accu check insight

I get this if I use the same site too often. I can use another one from the same batch in a different area and have no problems. Not saying that’s what you’re doing, that’s just what happens to me. Hope it gets sorted!

    When did you get induced?

Thanks @himtoo My daughter was born at exactly 37 weeks though she chose that herself and I had an emergency c-section. They were going to induce me at 38 weeks. Speak to your team about this and tell them your fears. Don’t let them persuade you, it is their job to advise not to make...

    Help [emoji22]

I know exactly what you mean. I used to hate my appointments and used to dread going sometimes if I knew I’d had a couple of high readings. Hope your scan goes well, appointments are worth it when you have scans [emoji173]️

    Help [emoji22]

Have you got an appointment soon? Mine were every two weeks when I was pregnant. If it were me I’d basal test again. Hope it comes down soon.

    Help [emoji22]

I’m not in the situation as you but didn’t want to read and run. When you say they’re high, how high? Have you done any basal testing? Have you set a temp basal rate on your pump to try and being them down?

    Illness - temp basal?

Sorry you’re feeling rough! Also sorry that I haven’t a clue what you can take if not paracetamol. I take lemsips when I’ve got a cold but obviously that contains paracetamol. Honey and lemon and bolus for the honey maybe? Hope you feel better soon x

    Help!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Are you certain it’s 1 hour after eating? I’ve always been told it’s 2 hours after eating, one hour seems ludicrous to me! Are you seeing a diabetic pregnancy clinic as well as your DSN? You may find that during the first trimester you will hypo a lot. It’s...

    T1 and pregnancy

My pregnancy was fairly straightforward but I was poorly throughout. Baby was fine though and although my bloods were slightly high to start with I got them in range fairly quickly. At around 35weeks I caught the flu and lost control of my bloods which resulted in a massive growth spurt for...

    Need a help soo badly..

@Sweet_you_ I don’t really have much to add that others haven’t already said. This thread has opened my eyes to my own weight issues to be honest! Try not to beat yourself up over this and take it one day at a time. Have you tried any slimming groups? MyFitnessPal is a really good app for...
