    Put on weight

I've lost the 2 pounds I put on last week. It seems that I lose weight - say 2 lbs - the following week I put 1.75 pounds on - the following week I lose 2.5 lbs. I suppose I'll get there in the end. I may take to weighing myself once a month - but I'm not sure I'd be able to cope  .

    Should I just go? Sparkles.

Hey Sparkles - if you stay, I'll stay. Been suffering the same problems as you and I agree that the site hasn't been well moderated, but hopefully Benedict is sorting that out. I've been having panic attacks over reading comments on here - my hubby isn't happy - but I agree that most people...

    My house is really nice...

I used to run a pub - hated it all those people you don't know/like coming into your home - so I wouldn't call the police - they never turn up until they can be sure they won't be involved in any trouble. Unless the person is so drunk they can't stand up, or female, and then the big, brave...

How do you do a low carb/low fat diet

I'm bumping this up as I'd have thought that someone would be able to help. Yesterday Ka-mon was saying that I possibly eat too much fat. Do I? I know this isn't a diet site and perhaps I should be happy that my bg is now in a good range, but I would appreciate help with diet. Cheers Ailz

    Awful experience last night.

Poor you, it sounds like you are really going through it at the moment. I hope you get your insulin started as from what I've read it will give you much more control. My doctor told me he would consider it for a type 2 with regular readings over 10, if they felt they wanted it - but it puts...

    Enough is enough

I agree with you - how am I supposed to know why someone is launched into when they put - what is to me - a reasonable post up. CowboyJim puts up lots of interesting stuff and never gets flamed -s that because he's known rather than new?

How do you do a low carb/low fat diet

Truly, I want to know. I'm using low carb to get my blood glucose under control, but also want to lose weight. I don't add much in the way of fat to anything. Standard food for me for a day is: 2 Eggs - though I'm totally fed up of them - boiled or an omelette cooked in a little coconut oil...

Low-Carb Diets – What Is Missing?

I eat fruit rather than veggies on my low carb. In fact going low carb has given me the incentive I needed to refuse veggies  - never have liked them much. I've stopped eating bread, potatoes, rice - I do occasionally have barley - but that's the only grain. I occasionally eat green...

Low-Carb Diets – What Is Missing?

Thank you Sparkles for saying what I wanted to say but much, much better than I ever could. Ailz :D

low fat diets make you mentally more unstable

Thanks Sid. I try to keep below 50 grams of carbs a day. I've been overweight for 52 years (I'm 56) and have tried every diet known to man - except (until I joined this forum) low carb. This is why I'm so interested and un-knowledgeable about the ins and outs of low carbing. I just know...

low fat diets make you mentally more unstable

I don't understand? This is what I mean by taking sides - I have no master - or mistress - I want to read every blog, every article, everything I can about low carb, low fat, low protein, low blood glucose - and their reverse.

low fat diets make you mentally more unstable

How do you eat a low-carb, low-fat diet without reducing your calories to a 'starvation' level of 1200 calories or less. I can maintain my weight on 1000 calories a day - following the healthy eating guidelines. I'm eating low carb - still having some problems in losing weight - but don't see...

I think I'm lost here. The information in the blog seems to be solid. Cheers Ailz

Low-Carb Diets – What Is Missing?

From what I've read saturated fat is hard to work out as a lot of the fat in meat isn't saturated. I use butter, olive oil or coconut oil for cooking - coconut oil being very highly saturated. I eat nuts, meat, fish, eggs, and cheese, I put butter on any veg I'm forced to eat  . I...

low fat diets make you mentally more unstable

I'm not 'attacking' the previous moderators - I just notice that every time someone puts something like this post up - which personally I find interesting - the previous moderators attack it and its instigator and I don't like that. I didn't see why that doctor person was banned for what he...

low fat diets make you mentally more unstable

One of the problems sufferers from Fibromyalgia have is low Serotonin. Since I've been eating low carb - and high(ish) fat - I feel better. No great surge of energy, but I don't think I'm so exhausted - I've not had to sleep in an afternoon for a week or two now - though I'm still sleeping 12...

low fat diets make you mentally more unstable

So don't answer them then. Don't see what some people are getting on their high horse about. I enjoy reading discussion threads, but had hoped that we could now have ones that disagree with the former moderators without calls for banning etc. Not all of us know whether we agree or disagree...

Newbie confused about low carb weight gain...

I find that one week I put weight on and then the next I take it and extra off. I was having 2 slices of bread a day and put on 2 lbs - the next week - no bread and I took off 3.5 lbs. I also find that coffee stops me from losing. Plus are you drinking enough water - and eating 20 grams (at...
