Keep getting these DP highs on the morning rides! The dilemma is, at what point do I stop and take more bolus I don’t feel happy once I get into the teens (mmol) At 15 to 16 I am definitely stopping to dose. Probably not a good idea to be hard exercising at these levels?

    Moving to Bermuda - tips

It's an interesting one. First thought. Pretend you still live in UK. Come back twice a year get your check ups, meds etc. Of course, I know this won't work. Good luck, hope it works out!

When I cycle to work (15mile) I tend to go without food and usually also take 2-4 units to battle the fotf depending on how it's looking. This usually works well. Food and adjustments then at work. But if going on a 50miler etc. I need the breakfast first. I try and eat a couple of hours prior...

    Getting fitter

One of my biggest dilema's is the early morning bike ride... breakfast and insulin ratio in order to be stable through the first hours ride. So at start of ride say maybe 10mmol, which I think is perfect. Sometimes though, adrenaline kicks and DP...and it can go into a steady rise, however hard...

    hi all

Leave it on. I've never had a problem, it has never been detected. I don't believe the xray will cause the libre any problems (despite what they may tell you) Pack spares plus all other meds in hand luggage. Enjoy!

Ah, good point. I have suprisingly gained weight, up from 74 to 78kg. Muscle gain maybe, not sure though.

    Getting fitter

I've recently upped my fitness regime. Not that I was unfit, but just started pushing on a bit more. I mean 1 or maybe 2 hours per day of cycling, odd day running, swimming etc. Sometimes competitive push for 3 hours max. Feeling pretty good, but I noticed that slowly my basal requirement seems...

Yep, that was the exact reply from my dsn after I made an enquiry. Will be interesting to see what developments follow on. Omnipod dash would be my next consideration I think. I'm quite interested in going down the AAPS route as well.

Talking about size. I am currently trying a dummy pump. You can email for one. Medtrum Nano. I think the smallest one available after some research. I find it quite bulky, but it the first time I've worn a pump!

Totally understand the size issue. I'm 57 and the miniature size of libre 3 was the reason i pushed my team hard to get on it. I'm virtually unaware I'm wearing it! I'm not looping (yet) I believe libre 3 is compatible but I guess not with the system the NHS want to give you.

Libre 3 for me. Not sure how the funding works as not actually on my normal prescription. They are issued direct from Abbott.

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

I think there are a few different systems. My understanding of the hcl system, is one reservoir for one bolus insulin, which is then micro dosed to mimic basel effect with further doses given for balancing carbs. All tailored to suit via personalised app/algorithm. Otherwise known as an...

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

you spend more of your time taking more and more daily injections to keep your bg in range, but then you don't qualify...Madness!

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

I think it’s more a case of 58hba1c being suggested as a cost effective cut off at which to offer hcl pump systems. From what I’m hearing though you can make a claim based on mdi regime causing you hyper or hypo difficult situations. Basically go and blag a poor quality of life story and demand...

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

I’ve been thinking a bit more about pumps recently. My main issue with mdi regime are those odd bad days of unexplained highs which need a lot of corrective doses to get on top of! After some research I got myself a dummy 'medtrum nano' patch and read into the aaps android jargon. The pump...

44 years T1 and still making mistakes

I use xdrip (this is another 3rd party app, superb imo) and can bluetooth scan the novopen. See image. Tbh I never do the 1 unit prime unless a new cartridge. Whenever I've tried 1 unit seems to come out, so I don't bother.

The new generation novopens are great as they keep history of last dose. And further history if you scan them into xdrip for eg. Many times I get to work and have to phone home asking someone to check my basal pens last dose. Madness when I've only taken it 30mins prior[emoji23]

44 years T1 and still making mistakes

Been there done it. Nightmare, so I sorted it out... Different colour pens, vials clearly marked in different boxes in fridge etc etc. Basal pen always kept on its own ready for morning dose. Yes, I beat myself up over my daily mistakes, usually caused by my own lack of willpower and maybe a...
