    injecting insulin in public

When I was much younger - 30 years ago - I shared a flat with a T1. Life was a real trial - if I couldn't predict the precise moment that food woud be 10 mins off, he'd turn into a mini Gordon Ramsey. That said, if we were out, he could dose himself at the table at the drop of a hat without...

    Newly diagnossed type 2

Probably the only absolutely true thing you'll hear is that you may not make it to 60/70/80. On the other hand, if we're talking about living to retirement age, 3 out of 4 do. Whether the 1 in 4 is done in by old age, a drunk driver or a medical condition is still under investigation...

    It was bound to come..

You cynic, you! I'm not sure I believed him to start with - I rather think he thinks he has hit the GP's bonus scheme equivalent of a royal flush. He may be in for a rude awakening :)

    Hello, I'm Grumpy...

Not above once an hour, mind. IKWYM about the info - keep it fast and keep it vague seems to be my GPs MO. We'll see what Nurse Gwladys has to say next week.. I feel a defining moment coming on! Dave

    It was bound to come..

Thanks, both. I need to do some reading and find out what the important questions are first - getting to grips with the technical terms and measures, might be a good starting point, I suppose, before I go for my "assessment"... Ken: I believe that Guiness can only really be classed as...

    It was bound to come..

as the wife said, taking delivery of the christmas turkey. Turning 50 can be a funny experience - unless you're overweight with a tendency to bronchitis... Turns out my quack of 30 years retired a few years back. His replacement's eyes lit up as if they'd found the only living one in...
