So sorry to read this Could your team not have a stern few words with them pointing out that it is in no way easy to flick a switch and have perfect control all of the time? xx

    Insulin Goals...

Are you dropping on the dose of insulin you are taking? Basal insulin should keep you steady in the ABSENCE of carbohydrates so if your still eating carbohydrates but not spiking and only taking basal then it suggest there is too much of it in your system and it is dealing with the food which it...

Dramatic changes in blood sugar pattern

Like Ellie says the 2 main things I'd look at was changing my insulin in case it had become compromised in some way or your honeymoon is coming to an end which is likely to be the case, perform a basal test if you can xx

    Tresiba 3ml cartridge pen

Yes but remember to save yourself extra injecting if you ever reach near 30U of Tresiba to ask for a NovoPen 5, the Echo can only do 30U and 0.5 increments but the NovoPen 5's max is 60U in 1U increments xx

Yes, have received a few over the years in both eyes Advice? Don't panic, they aren't as bad as you think they will be, they clean your eye, tape your eyelid open, insert a small spring between your eyelids to make sure it stays open, mark your eye where they will inject and do the job...

    Retinopathy Advice/Experiences

@domoboy don't worry about it, it's fine! Well I was diagnosed Type 1 November 2016, I'd noticed my vision wasn't the best just before that, I mentioned it on a forum and was told by more experienced members to leave it, it was normal, it would get better etc and I did for a couple of weeks but...

    Covid vaccine

It would completely depend on how many of each group were in your area, also if only Type 1 then you'll be seen as less of a priority over those with 2+ underlying health conditions for instance, where I am in Scotland I've been offered but declined in order to be put onto the GP's list, I...

Struggling to get libre to stick

Search for Cutiderm on eBay, the seller jfamedical and you can get a pack of 20 patches for £6.99, its exactly the same type of thing as Tegaderm but much cheaper, its the 60mm x 70mm ones you are wanting, that's what I've used for over a year xx

    Insulin stopped working... help!

Have you tried adjusting your basal? If your basal isn't correct then your rapid acting won't work as it should, that is assuming you are on a basal/bolus regime? xx

Feeling a little low after eye screening

Have to say that after being diagnosed with macular oedema less than a month after being diagnosed Type 1 and then proliferative retinopathy less than 2 years in I would've been ecstatic to make it your length of time without issues but rather than progress from background I just went straight...

    Quick question

was just checking because of that comment as that indicated you were adjusting basal where it shouldn't have been xx
  16. kaylz91

    Quick question

Sorry @Carl40 I just want to clarify, the insulin you take for food is bolus and the one once or twice a day is basal, I hope you aren't increasing the basal to take into account odd reading or whatever as it isn't designed for that, it's designed to keep you stable in the absence of food and...
  17. kaylz91

    Quick question

I've been on insulin for over 4 years and its never made me hungry, nor I or any others I know have been told this, higher BG causes hunger because you aren't getting the energy from the food you are consuming, also insulin alone does not cause weight gain, its what you eat along side it that...

    What meter to buy?

You don't state which type you are but it really boils down to what strips you can continue to self fund as that's the more expensive part, the ongoing cost of test strips, many find the Tee2 and Gluco Navii to be very reliable meters and those 2 have the cheapest known strips at around £10 for...

    What meter to buy?

All meters have an error margin of I think it is allowed to be 15%, some don't realise this and just spout that its inaccurate etc, you'll never find a meter that EVERY user rates, its just not going to happen xx

The Contour Next One has an app that can be linked via blue tooth, its a great wee meter, shaped kind of like a USB stick xx
