    Blood tests

I'm not too sure on the liquid, but I know the pastilles are sugar free. I'd certainly give it a go though, it didn't work for me to use it but I'm a cynic for this kind of product and think it's psychological!

    Blood tests

It's not fun, is it? :( I had a huge fear of blood tests stemming from when I was first diagnosed, as my blood was so thick it took them numerous attempts to get blood out, and as a previously healthy 7 year old, it scared the hell out of me. I've since learnt that my veins are very deep...

A very worrying hypo & question :( Please help!!

Thanks guys, I know I'm naughty and forget to update my threads!! Am trying hard to rest, but had to exercise one of the horses yesterday (from the ground, don't worry!) and he was a bit fresh so got rope burns on my hands to add to the list  If my consultant has anything to add I'll...

Help? Just cant find the motivation to control my diabetes!

Re: Help? Just cant find the motivation to control my diabet You are making me blush  I never thought in a million years I could be a potential inspiration to anyone! Realistically though, even when I put up posts not dissimilar to this one, users were telling me all about them, and I...

A very worrying hypo & question :( Please help!!

Sorry guys, completely forgot to update this! They basically aren't too sure on what happened. They think I more than likely did indeed have a hypo/fit. The swollen tongue/memory loss was the main contender for the indicator of the fit. They also concluded I had quite a concussion and have...

Help? Just cant find the motivation to control my diabetes!

Re: Help? Just cant find the motivation to control my diabet Trust me, you'll find it. I'm 19 too, and have been diabetic since I was 8. I was good for the first 2 years (mainly because my parents helped me). My parents then divorced, my mother was working all the hours in the world so no one...

    Diabetes and Disabled Badges...

Oh dear. What's wrong with T2s?! In answer to the original question, no, I don't think any diabetic should get a blue badge based on diabetes alone. If you are in a position where you are frequently hypoing or feel you cannot safely pull over, you shouldn't really be driving. As the meerkats...

A very worrying hypo & question :( Please help!!

Enter scenario! Monday night I was fine, I'd been to sort out the horses and was home at 9pm. BM was 6.5, had dinner, took Humalog, Levemir and went off to sleep. Tuesday, all day, is none existant to me. I woke in the early hours of Wed morning on the floor of my room. I had my duvet with me...

    Injection rooms?

Thankyou to those who answered my devil's advocate post - just to make it clear, I don't believe in hiding it either, just something my boyfriend picked up on! As for injecting through clothing, I think I might have mentioned this earlier on but I refuse to do it. As much as diabetes isn't a...

How much panicking should I be doing

Nothing really substantial to add - I'm a T1 and was diagnosed at a young age so don't really remember much! All I wanted to add was good luck, and keep us posted on how you get on - you'll find out soon enough that this forum is a goldmine full of information and helpful posters :D xxx

    Free Hospital Passport

I received on of these the other week - a brilliant resource for those who hate having to relay their diabetic history all the time! It does, however, need more publicity and information sending to hospitals, as a few doctors weren't sure on them and thus ignored everything I'd written...

    Injection rooms?

Just to play devil's advocate.... I went out with my boyfriend to a local, well known Italian/New York restaurant chain  earlier this week. I've adopted a proper, approved and strict insulin/BM regime. This means doing a BM and my insulin prior to eating. As I got out my pen and started...

New to forum just started metformin Side effects??

I'm a Type One so take both insulin and Metformin. I've witnessed no personal side effects apart from stomach pain, but that is because I'm blonde and forgetful so don't always remember to take it with meals! Interesting to see the Glucophage SR seems to have less effects - this is the one I'm...
