    Metformin or not?

Hi. I'm exactly in the same position as you. I'm on Sr and week 3. Readings same as before but stomach feels odd.... I'm actually less regular than before and feel like I've been pumped up with gas inside. Horrid. I got my levels from 86 to 60 in 6 weeks without meds and didn't know if I should...

    Feeling nervous about taking metformin

That's interesting. May I ask why you refused statins. I'm hearing that a lot of people with diabetes take them but they've not been offered to me, no idea why.

Hi, I've got to pick up a prescription of metformin.... Been put on 2g a day. Levels were 86 6 weeks ago but with diet alone I managed to get hba1c to 60 and cholesterol from 6.8 to 5.6. Not sure why, just feel incredibly nervous about meds. I know I shouldn't feel this way as many people take...

    Injections

Hi, Not sure if I'm right but I was just reading on the Internet that if your hba1c is more than 9% or 10% then it's likely that insulin will be suggested. My reading was 85. However. On here, it seems that people with higher readings than 85 are on oral drugs. I'm panicking now. Waiting to see...

    Alcohol

I fancy a gin and tonic tonight. It will be first drop of alcohol since diagnosis. Can I drink flavoured ones or does it need to be white gin? Would a wine be better or a prosecco? Red, white? Not sure. Looking forward to one drink with bbq and football later.
