    Charcot foot?

I thought I would need insoles specifically for Metatarsalgia (Sorry not sure of spelling) as I've been having pain on the ball of my feet, on moving but also when in bed. Nothing so simple. The podiatrist is sending me for xrays and seems to think it's a diabetes related problem. He stood me...

7am Surgery Not Allowed To Be Admitted The Night Before

I had a hypo before surgery the nurse gave me a small carton of Apple juice about an hour before. I think running a bit high is best the evening before and if you hypo sugar cubes, but let them know before anaesthetic. Good luck with surgery.

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

I have a pump so the only way to see if the pump is working ok is to test. I used to test 5-6 times a day but, thankfully now have a libre so only test when result is high, for ketones.

    Freestyle Libre

Yes it is cut bread that has the values. I'm still confused though. The information says each slice is 20g carbs. So do I input 20g into the libre information or do I have to do some working out? What about for things like mashed potato? In other words foods that don't tell you the carbs...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

I am lucky to get this on our Social Security system in France. I think it's brilliant but it's a pity more people in UK aren't given the same options. I did sign a petition a little while back for UK diabetics to get it. In the long run, doesn't it work out cheaper than sticks and machines...

    Changing Pumps After 9yrs

I started off pumping with a Medtronic veo. It was great and had no problems. I switched to an omnipod and that is good too, no cables or wires to worry about. Great for summer with swimming etc . I have found my skin seems quite allergic to the pod. It's ok on my arm but leaves a lot of...

    Freestyle Libre

I'm really happy to use the libre. I started using about 2 months ago and now do so many glucose readings it's not funny! Through the night it's very useful. One question I have is hope do you input the carbs in? If I weigh my 2 slices of bread which reads 47g, does the input need to read 47g...

    New Member Saying Hi

I think it's brilliant not having to finger prick all the time. It's very useful for nightime readings without the hassle of getting a stick in the machine and finger testing. I no longer have to write down readings as the libre has it for 3 months. I'm lucky that our French social security...

Thank you for your help. I phoned them and was told that there is only one language which is normally the language for the country who supplies the Omnipod.

Hi all pumpers This is my first post. Ive been a type 1 diabetic for 48 years. Only started with a medronic veo pump 5 years ago, which has given me brilliant blood glucose, from over 9 to 6.6 HB1C.. I'm about to change to an omnipod, and would like to know if it is possible to change the...
