Is weight Loss a 'must' for reversing Metabolic Syndrome?

This is a really interesting post. I’m a type 2 with insulin resistance, my GP has referred to it as metabolic disorder. It’s my weight that’s the problem - I carry it all around on my tummy. I’ve lost 3 stone in the last year. Blood sugars haven’t improved at all. Glad I’m not the only one...

    Noodles

just thought I would let everyone know I have had and very much enjoyed some low carb noodles from Lidl. 5g carbs per half pack. They were in the refrigerated section and looked and tasted very much like fresh egg noodles. They are actually made from fish but you would never know. Made a lovely...

    Blood test results for cushings

Many Thanks Seacrow, I have a GP appointment on Monday to discuss it. Its odd that the GP said the results were abnormal where I viewed them online. Part of me will be relieved not to have it, but the other part of me wanted a positive diagnosis so I knew what was going on.

    Blood test results for cushings

I've recently had a dexamethasone suppression test for cushings… anyone under stand the results of <11nmol/L (185.0 - 624.0) is it a high or low reading for cortisol? I know most of you guys aren't medically trained, but I'm struggling to find any info regarding levels online.

    Orlistat and LCHF

Thank you so much for your reply. I've definitely decided to give the Orlistat a miss for the time being. Since October - I have got fitter by going to the gym, but no weight loss. My blood sugars for the last couple of weeks have been 15 - 25 as you all know way above where they should be...

    Orlistat and LCHF

Its a diabetic dietician, I'm hoping for some help to get some weight off. To be honest I'm desperate for some sort of help to lower my blood sugars and lose some weight. I also hope she might understand LCHF. I'm struggling as I've stuck to 50g of carbs a day on LCHF since October and...

    Orlistat and LCHF

You are correct about the drug! The counterintuitive bit is why I asked the question. :) I have an appointment with a dietician in a couple of weeks and will find out where she wants me to go from there. Thankyou.

Any tips for lowering blood sugar when it’s high for no obvious reason?

I had a cpeptide test around a year ago and I’m still producing insulin. When I was at the hospital, the team decided I was very insulin resistant.
