I feel your pain Justin04. All your efforts for naught I fear. Beyond the fact that IMO the G3 and now the G4 are not fit for purpose, I find the interface between Medtronics and myself, when sorting out a sensor problem, to be so superficial, as to be almost meaningless and for the life of me I...

    Medtronic 780g Correction doses

Hi LauraR88. You sound like you have been through the wars. Pumps can be pernickity creatures. You can suspend delivery, without unplugging from the machine. That is what I do if I feel a hypo on the way, well that and a couple of jelly beans. Since switching to the 780 upgrade, I have lost...

Hi Jerryshort. Regarding the positioning of the sensor, the only place Medtronic warrants the accuracy of the G4 sensor, is the back of the arm. My understanding is any other position may lead to inaccurate readings, with all the problems that that would entail. Got to say my friend IMO, I...

    Libre 2 signal loss

I don't wish to sound like someone who enjoys being bashed about, if I can put it that way, but I.M.O. I would think it is almost impossible for anyone to understand how much stress and angst problems with sensors causes, unless you wear one and come face to face with the enormity of the problem...

Started insulin, gained weight. Help please.

I love baking and when I do, I like to eat what I bake, so as my levels rise, I just up my insulin. I believe this type of behaviour is not uncommon in T1s and I would be guessing, that it is the most likely reason for unwanted weight gain amongst most of said T1s.

    Libre 2 signal loss

Here in Oz I was lead to believe that a lot of the problems were caused by the update of the interface software between the Libre2 and Samsung android. I did have some issues when Samsung did their android13 upgrade, but after a considerable amount of angst and some long call to Abbotts...

MoonCloudy, I have gone well beyond the stress phase with these G4 sensors. Today I went out and bought, at full retail, two Libre2 sensors. They are actually part of my problem, as I went from dumping the G3 and using the my pump in manual, with manual BG readings, to using the Libre2 sensor...

2300hrs and I finally got someone to talk to. Not a lot of joy there, as the end result was that they will send me a replacement, as a courtesy, free. After warm up I finally went to bed about 0130hrs, tired and grumpy. Don't even know how this sensor made it past the product evaluation phase.

One hour and fifteen minutes and I think I will quit while I am ahead. THIS IS NO WAY TO SERVICE A PRODUCT THAT HAS LIFE AND DEATH IMPLICATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought I'd vent. Another sensor fail. It's going to be a very long night for me, as it's alreaday 2150hrs on a warm Wednesday night and I am on hold waiting for the Medtronics people to do me the courtesy of picking up their phone and talking to me. If and when I change it out, it is...

    Medtronic guardian 4

Just a footnote if I may. I have just done a quick search and it seems that Medtronic will be replacing the G4 with a sensor called Simplera A.K.A. Instinct. As I understand it, at this time it (Simplera) will have a 7 day wear time. At this point I cannot find a whole lot about definite release...

Hopefully a new sensor, that is fit for purpose and meets end user requirements will lob sooner rather than later, as the 780G software is actually very, very good. My TIR since upgrading from the 770G (in manual, because the G3 sucked, with a Libre 2 sensor) is now better than 85%, whilst at...

Does the 780G+G4 work well when eating low carb?

Hi eventhorizon.. Pleased to hear that you have found what you were looking for. I hope the remainder of 24 continues to be kind to you and yours. I can and do empathise with your problem re your diabetes team and the sometimes sketchy levels of knowledge about what is available and how best...

Does the 780G+G4 work well when eating low carb?

For what it's worth, my own personal experience with the 780G upgrade, seems to show that, at least with me, it tends to struggle a fair bit with high/very high carb loads at meal times, anything over about 70Gms carbs, seems to cause some problems (pasta, rice etc. etc.), but IMO the pump...

    Starting to struggle a bit

As the above have mentioned, you will have to take a serious look at your carb intake. I would suggest as a matter of urgency, an extended visit to an Endo and if you can find one ukmartian, you may find a diabetes nurse educator most helpful, along with a visit to an empathetic dietitian...

If wishes were fishes we would all cast nets. I would think that a year would be a very optimistic expectation. perhaps they will take another look at the competition and see the sense of urgency that is developing and IMO, how far behind the pack they are being left. We shall see.

I don't really understand why a company can design a new sensor and a smart insulin pen, write software so that they can "talk" to each other and have that information available on an appropriate phone, yet at the same time seems to be so blind as to see that that sensor is exactly what is need...

Does the 780G+G4 work well when eating low carb?

Sorry to be so long in replying Rianne. Sometime life, both the good and the bad takes us to places unexpected. In Smartguard, if you go to Bolus Wizard Setup you can edit you Carb ratio, which effectively increases, or decreases the amount of insulin delivered with food. The only thing to...
