    SO ANGRY!!!!!

I think I'll sit on the fence with this and say maybe she just picked a random statistic to prove a point and isn't actually suggesting that the government stop paying the money... Facebook is like the tabloids - take it with a pinch of salt or as you put it - don't read it

how high and how low have you been?

I was just thinking about this this morning! My highest I think has been between 24 and 28 and my lowest was 1.1 which was when I had just walked home from a night out at 1am so I was still standing but when I stood still I was shaking. That was in the early days and now if it dips below 4 I...

    Test strip allowance,

This is so silly! I have this meter too, have done for several years then my GP surgery decided they would only prescribe one (or 2) types of testing strips and told me I needed to make an appt to get a new meter as they wouldn't issue my strips any more. When I had my appt the nurse proudly...

How do you (or I) stay motivated

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling like this but all I can say is that motivation for anything can only come from you. I suspect your weight loss is due to lack of insulin not because of a miracle. If you want a little bit of motivation - take one BG test and see what you register

14 years with T1 and my fears and hopes for the future

I have had T1 for the last 14 years too - I was diagnosed at 18 when I went to register at the University GP. I think I've been winging it for the last 14 years - I've never been really bad at controlling it but I've never been really good either. I am trying to change the latter now - mainly...

    Too much insulin?

Wow, I never knew that. I actually thought that was good until I worked out that I weigh 68kg so I'm having too much insulin. I do think this is an exercise issue on my part. I did weight watchers for a few months in 2011 and managed to cut down my insulin quite a bit and lose 20lbs in...

    Too much insulin?

Hi Em Thank you so much for your response, it is actually very helpful. I do think that part of my increased insulin 'issue' is because I've been SOO lazy lately. I really need to do some exercise  Over the years I do feel I've been left to deal with it on my own and my...

Whats the most annoying thing people say about diabetes?

"When my sugars are low 'do you need more insulin' " Ha ha, yes my colleagues always seem confused about this. "What do I do if you're passed out?" Er, call an ambulance, like you would with anyone...?! I confess, I am quite a sensitive person and like to keep myself to myself so sometimes if...

    Too much insulin?

Hi, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes over 14 years ago (I am now 32). After my last HbA1c in August came in at 8.4% (I really hadn't been looking after myself) and retinopathy present in my last 2 eye tests, I decided I needed to stop ignoring it and sort it all out - particularly as I...
