    3 months on ...

Well done you. I understand how challenging the lifestyle changes can be, and it would be easy to bury your head in the sand and eat the wrong things etc. Reducing your hba1c to 41 is great! Hope you can continue to keep it there :)

Bolusing for a meal and not finishing it?

Do you ever do this? I have a bad habit lately of giving a bolus for a meal, then not managing to eat the whole meal. Which obviously leads to a hypo if I don't eat more carbs. The best thing wold to he able to bolus after eating, but I am trying to reduce post meal spikes and I am using the...

    Pre-proliferative changes

I can understand why the letter worried you. I'm kind of in a similar place, I found out I have retinopathy two weeks ago but mine is proliferative and I had an urgent referral for treatment. Try not to stress, there are treatments available and it may be you don't even need treatment yet...

    Proliferative retinopathy

Thanks @noblehead yes r3 not l3. The info you posted is very helpful. I remember him saying I don't have any fibrosis but it is r3. It would be good to know what treatment is usual for r3 retinopathy without fibrosis or retinal detachment. I know the nhs is in a crisis but I am just concerned...

    Proliferative retinopathy

I found out two weeks ago I have this. I was away camping and receive an email saying an urgent appointment had been made for laser treatment from the retinopathy screening I had been to. I went to the urgent appointment, terrified I should add... the Dr spoke very poor English but from what I...

    Omnipod

No personal experience but a good friend has one and loves it. If I got funding and the omnipod was an option it would be my first choice. Only thing is each pod carries up to 200 units of insulin. If you use a lot of insulin you may need to change pods more often.

I have suffered from diabulimia in the past too and understand what an awful struggle it is so well done you for trying hard to get better control. I am desperate for a pump but my dsn...

    Funding and changing hospitals

Hello, I have a few questions regarding pumps/funding and criteria and know you are the experts here! I am 26, been t1 for 19 years. Had periods of very poor control mainly due to ED-DMT1 (diabulimia) but haven't omitted insulin in 2 yrs and have been trying my hardest to control my diabetes...
