Is it possible to still be in "honeymoon" 2 years on?! Unexplained hypos.

Well I am still honeymooning at 1 year 5 months with no end. My body can handle my basal ok but sucks at bolus so I have a normal I:C ratio. I have unexplained lows too but I am on a pump and temp basal my way through it.

    Fiasp vs Humalog

Nova I was on but thought I would add my two cents as FIASP users are not commonplace at the moment.

    Fiasp vs Humalog

I have had no change in my I:c ratio moving to FIASP, the only thing that annoys me with it is that it has the same tail as nova in my opinion, which when bolusing closer to the meal vs waiting 20-40 mins, means the tail is still going round the duration that you saved by bolusing sooner...

    NHS

Absolute cheek to have a quote from J Hunt there, he either thinks what he is doing is working or going to try harder next year to cripple it. US at the bottom, no surprises there yet thats the way he wants the NHS to go, we just have to keep fighting with the staff and reduce the privatisation...

@Kateyo how has it been? And the same question to everyone else? I have started to feel so much more free with the correction time, I tend to give it a little top up if the arrow is up, even during a meal, if I eat too quick or misjudge I feel ok having a mini stack to pre-emptively stop it...

    DIET?

Take it in bitesize chunks, you have to start somewhere. You are at the starting post lets get a few steps on the road. Are you a t1 or t2, what sort of daily readings have you got at the moment?

    Talking CGM

@Platinum Amazon Echo can speak your CGM reading, through nightscout. You need to set up your cgm to work with nightscout, then follow a guide to make an app (its step by step) and then if all is correct, you can ask Alexa. There are loads of guides, and at first it can be a bit overwhelming...

Is Driving and Diabeties a good idea?

Point 2. It is not always your fault, if you have a finger stick prior to driving (and probably one at the scene to prove it) you will be ok, normal accident rules should apply i.e. run into the back of someone, auto that persons fault. Edit: Misread what your typed! - but I will keep it for...

Is Driving and Diabeties a good idea?

@Alison Campbell I drive, I passed my test at the end of Oct 2015, then by feb 2016 I was Diagnosed. I was pretty late to my license too. I think it is worth it, but you have to think in the mindset of safety, I will never drive unless I have fingerstick tested, even if my Dexcom is in the...

Well FIASP is a god send for spontaneous eating, I kinda of winged it today at the street food event. Got there for 11am, mentally prepared my self to not get stressed at a double digit. From 11am til 2:30 I ate: Fried Chicken and Fries, Soft Tacos, Fish and Rice, Half a Pizza and a ended with...

Hey Scott, I ate this hi GI food instantly and tbh in future I will give the FIASP a head start. But with low GI meals i expect my extended bolus to give less upfront perhaps? On jabs, i think try as soon as you eat maybe? Only way to find out is to try. P.s FIASP is getting a good run...

How long do you keep your sensor going? Because my second week is always my strongest by far, I often dose from it too, but first few days are rubbish when it first goes in.

I find the biggest change I have made with sugary food is to eat slow, like I have once tackled a creme egg (once non-hypo, i promise!) and it went ok actually, i literally ate it so slow, and waited 30-40 mins with nova. These things are too much effort, and tbh.. i never was a sugar fiend...

So FIASP on two meals...awesome. Started a bit higher for breakfast with 50g carbs (thought I would give it a good first run!) went with Granola, yet again..picked it up last night as I do love Granola/ Muesli and haven't had it for nearly a year. Jabbed and ate immediately, and quickly (wasn't...

Who are you voting for in the general election 2017?

Totally agree with all the above, i mean in my mind Irelands been troubled since the Brexit vote, Scotland was, but seems to have accepted the outcome hence the lack of SNP support. The thing is she is has royally messed up, and is not thinking properly, just trying to retain power. She wont...

Who are you voting for in the general election 2017?

I honestly can't believe that they are going in with DUP, especially after everything she said about Corbyn and terrorist sympathiser, coalition of choas and everything else. She is a person (party) of no principles, doing whatever dirty tactic to stay in. But what we can try to take as a...

Who are you voting for in the general election 2017?

That is because our future is a bit up in the air, BREXIT hasn't happened yet and we have no clue of the terms, once the markets know our intentions and its safer to invest they will go up. The result last night surprised everyone hence the crash (crashed from the exit poll). Same with Brexit...
