Any ideas for a non alcoholic replacement for wine/beer etc?

Hi Ziggy The lemon sounds nice, would try without sweetener first , like a bit of a wince, I always eat the lemon garnish.. Hi No Spoon Yes I quite agree a single GLASS a day but i am more prone to a single BOTTLE so would like to find an alternative that full fills my sipping habit without...

Any ideas for a non alcoholic replacement for wine/beer etc?

Been wondering about this as I want to cut right back on the booze. I love the flavours of robust reds and fine ales. [the ales are a carby rare treat] I enjoy sipping interesting flavours but nothing is like a fine red for texture etc. Most soft drinks I have ever tried tend to be vile sweet...

Fenugreek 610mg Capsules to lower sugar levels

Not had methi leaves for a while but i when i could not get fresh i used to get frozen blocks of them. I used to be a great fan of sourcing all my herbs and spices fresh from 'Asian' supermarkets. The pastes and sauces created were real taste extravaganzas. I loved all the tubas with a real...

On and off pain in my first big toe

Oh I SO agree with that a couple of years back I used to get the hat pin stabs on a regular random basis in varying places, just drifting of to sleep and YELP! fully awake. Mercifully it occurs much less these days and to a lesser painful degree. All of this occurred after my a1c was at normal...

Fenugreek 610mg Capsules to lower sugar levels

I don't know about the effects of fenugreek seeds but the leaves [sold as methi ] are delicious in sweet and savoury [not that sweet is my thing these days] they add a lovely caramel flavour which is distinctly unique to the leaf, great with lamb curries etc. :)

    Vitreous Hemorrhage/PDR

Sorry to hear about your troubles i have a great deal of sympathy for what you are going through. Needle phobia indeed does not help, myself the thought of lasers in the eye would worry me more. I have had plenty of anti vegf injections and they seem to work well. I concur with your doctor...

    Carbohydrates as an addiction

I think fasting without liquids is not the best of plans, by clear liquid i guess you mean water. We don't last long with out that! I think the record fast is over a year by someone who had a lot of body fat in reserve: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angus_Barbieri%27s_fast

    Post pregnancy eye disease

Please don't freak out this sort of thing is relatively common and can clear up on its own. Diabetic eye complications tend to progress slowly and the medical staff and yourself are now aware of the situation so regular monitoring will keep tabs on it. this is something i have personal...

Quit smoking and high sugar levels

With vaping and nic lozenges you could be overdoing the nicotine intake a bit and upping cortisol levels. The upped cortisol levels can up blood sugars. Lots of people when they first use nicotine replacement therapy can over do the nicotine a bit. I remember when I first started vaping Phew I...

    Maculophathy

had a quick dig about nothing turned up but it is out there somewhere. The impression i have is that the growth of weak blood vessels once initiated need constant monitoring. I initially thought that a course of injections was all that was needed but regular update or treatments might actually...

That was my experience all my symptoms got worse when bloods got back to normality , there was a paper cited somewhere of the forum describing the mechanisms of action for this . long and short of it is that things can continue to worsen for 3-4 years after normalisation[will try to search for...

Diabetes Nurse Worried I Would Get Bored...

Interesting comment about getting bored of food. If your food is making you bored you are not hungry just wanting to eat for leisure. I eat pretty much the same stuff daily and if i tuck into meal and think meh, I just wait a couple of hours and the food does not touch the sides. I tend to view...

Obesity, T2 and my right to eat the diet that will heal me

I noticed a similar article in the telegraph. [no comment allowed too] it has been a few weeks rest from the propaganda drive so i guess its ramping up for another push. The heard 'they' want to control /cull really is human. disgusting.
