    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

It does seem like the NHS are prioritising others. I run with a GP who thinks it's all slightly odd regarding those that are well controlled. Have you been told to increase your HbA1c?

Like the idea of the cheese frittata!

Fasting Blood Sugar this morning + yesterday's food AND physical activity

5 mile easy bimble with the club. I had my usual post early morning run breakfast of croissant (Riverford croissant - the absolute best), hairy kiwi and quark. A real treat. Don't like cake but any pastries.....

I managed a 23 minute Parkrun at the weekend. Put me into the 70% wava score.

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

It looks like the NHS (bless 'em) are prioritising the right people. I appreciate that I am certainly not a priority. It might be that I would find it all a bit of a distraction. But I might live a lot longer and just get one because I'll be the only person without. I can wait!

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

Sometimes though I think being stuck in my ways makes control easier for me. I still like to eat at the same times. I don't miss meals. I eat very healthily.I rarely eat things like cake. I have always exercised a lot because it makes me feel better.

I was told I need to raise my HbA1c because at my advanced age I might go hypo in the night and fall down the stairs.

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

No. Rarely hypo. Still get very good hypo warning signs. No retinopathy. No neuropathy. No problems with kidneys or liver. I did have a cancer diagnosis and treatment 18 months ago. Recovered very well. Was back running Parkrun within 3 weeks of surgery - although I probably shouldn't have done!

But I did run a 23 minute Parkrun at the weekend.

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

My HbA1c has always been low. I much prefer it this way. I have been told recently to make it higher because I am incredibly old.

    Spikes

Still, after 57 years of this, I quite like how absurd it can all be!

How can I go from 7.2 to 12.9 in 23 minutes? Nothing to eat or drink - not even water - just a fairly quick 5k Parkrun.

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

I have recently been refused a pump anyway. Too well controlled and far too fit. Endocrinologist couldn't understand why I had been referred. But then I suppose I am nowhere near a priority. 66 years old.Type 1 for 57 years. HbA1c of 37. BMI of 21.5.

    Running

Well, I just managed 23 minute Parkrun. Put me well over 70% on wava score. Big spike on completion - 12.9. I always find this slightly strange. I need more insulin and less food. Surely that's wrong! Not quite 50 minute 10k but it was on forest trails. Short tandem ride yesterday -25 miles -...

Hoping for 23 minute Parkrun tomorrow! And a sub 50 10k next day!

    Running

I am much the same! I nearly always think if things become a little unpredictable it's because I am unwell. However, I suppose I am slightly more worried than usual re. being unwell as it's my cancer blood test and appointment next. Has it metastasized? Interesting though. At age 66 and 57...

    Running

But this was a slow, little bimble. Easy 9 minute miles. If I try hard (from previous experience) it usually spikes me. I do this slow one most weeks and it doesn't do this to me. So, I had more insulin than usual, exactly the same food as usual, at the same time as usual. I actually had 3.5...

    Running

Early morning 5 mile run this morning. Usual basal insulin. Starting BG of 7.3. Finished with BG of 9.7. 3.5 units of Novorapid. 30g carb breakfast. Hour later BG of 12.3. Why?

Is a better guage time in target? 99% last 7 days. Daily patterns? Very level.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Mine is 37%. About 5.5. This after 57 years of Type 1. I think I could be past the honeymoon phase. My BMI is 21.5. I have very few hypos. I haven't needed help because of a hypo for more than 30 years. I am still learning!
