"Rethinking A1C Goals for T2 Diabetes"

To me it suggests they offer cream. I doubt very much they have heard of or care one iota about people on low carb diets.

Type 2 EASY WAY TO CHECK CARB INTAKE

I’m way to lazy to count stuff, I just eat. I’m not sure what benefit you get from knowing how of something you’ve eaten unless you need to medicate to compensate. I know the Fitbit app has a function where you can enter your food intake if you have that, or my fitness pal.

    Why am I diabetic 2?

Are you saying that your HCP has told you nothing? You must have had some test or other that would have resulted in the diagnosis.

I will admit to never having read anything by JF, nor watched any of his videos, but I do have access to the thoughts of @bulkbiker which is the equivalent, and usually more concise.

Calorie counting apps accused of encouraging eating disorders

As long as there is someone else to blame, we can’t have anyone being forced to take any personal responsibility.

    Carbs

One thing you can be certain of, it’s far more complicated than just the total number of carbs on the label.

    Hba1c accuracy

While the blood was taken at the same time, there will have been differences in how it was stored and transported which may affect the end result, along with when the actual test took place. In the grand scheme the difference is marginal, and both show excellent control.

    Marscapone and Other Such Cheeses

I think we should all know that when you eat Fat on something like a pizza, whilst it may or may not have an affect on your BG overall it is unhealthy and will probably make you gain weight. Mascarpone on its own isn’t likely to be an issue, but if you make a Victoria sponge and use mascarpone...

Cocosilk’s questions (moved to their own thread to avoid derailing)

Sorry, I am in Italy on holiday so not on the forum much. My GP didn’t do a 60 minute check, but my own meter said 11.7, so based on the fact that the result is unreliable I call it tight. My official 2 hour reading was 7.6, whilst my own meter recorded 7.9 I had not undertaken an OGTT...

Cocosilk’s questions (moved to their own thread to avoid derailing)

    1) Yes to all three. The fasting was never in doubt (the 1 hour was “tight”) 2) about 3 years 3) no I have no interest in eating unnecessary carbs 4) unfortunately not 5) my total number went up at first, then reduced. As most LC’ers find it is the LDL that often elevates the total number

Was Told By A Doctor To Increase My Carbs

Well I have a “partial” answer. I have T2D and undertook an OGTT whilst following a low carb diet and without changing my diet in preparation. I had a none-diabetic response. But everyone is different, so the response will always differ. On the other hand, if I had never been diagnosed as...

    Carnivore Corner

As a “part time” carnivore I don’t like to interrupt this thread, but after 5 days of an Italian holiday I have found it remarkably easy to eat very low carb all the time (and I haven’t bought anything to eat in a supermarket, everything has been in a cafe or restaurant) Tonight’s effort was a...
