Sounds just like my experience to date. The medics don't even want to discuss it and treat the patient as if we are unable to make informed choices. I tabled the option of self testing with my practice nurse who dismissed it and said - that's only needed for Type 1 diabetics. Anyone any tips?

Sue - no-one has suggested anything re testing sugar levels. Also not on medication you mention - do you find cramp is a common thread among diabetics?

I'm fairly new to Diabetes (Dec 08) and suffer from terribly painful foot/legcramp - night time usually worse than day time but if I have consumed alcohol for example and my BG is presumably high, pain can be excruciating. Practice Nurse says no link with Diabetes - not convinced. Currently...
