    Muntijay - no figure, just fat loss.. really pleased, I posted this 3wks ago & have now lost 10lbs with noticeable fat loss, back in the gym properly with supplements & am nearly back to my old muscle mass & definition (not bad for 48)

    midnightrider - at risk of sounding thick, how do you work out carbs per meal? I look at carbs per 100g on packets & go for as low as possible

    no worries Wanden. you don't need to be a bodybuilder to benefit from supplements, simple toning up & improving strength.. forgot to say, AMsport is the range I use, very good quality & reasonable prices, couple of guys at work are sponsored by them for their CrossFit.. definitely recommend...

    you definitely need weight training to put on muscle mass / toning up. supplements really help but aren't for everyone, try & see how it goes.. maximuscle are good but expensive for what they are, Phd/USN etc not bad. wheys are pretty much standard but some can affect stomach, creatine...

I will keep going with low carb & exercise, keep taking metformin for now but if cholesterol levels aren't better at next test I'll have to take statins...

    thanks Bluetit1802. HbA1c - 46.. glucose tolerance = serum fasting 7.5/ 120min level 14.0 cholesterol - serum cholesterol 5.4 serum triglycerides 6.12 serum HDL 0.82 total cholesterol:HDL level 6.6 can't see LDL level hope that helps
