I was put on insulin as I was diganosed after ending up in hospital and given my age it probbaly looked like T1. I was put on metformin six months later after some tests.

Re: How were you at diagnosis? I was treated as T1 and put on insulin at first because of my age. I've noticed most people at the hospital diabetic clinic I use are usually 50 plus so I usually stand out.

Re: How were you at diagnosis? Had infection , ended up in intensive care and being pumped full of insulin. I was 26 and it was a couple of years ago. I'll never forget the scary woman who informed me I was Diabetic ,. life would change and even mentioned having children in the future! Nice...

Not sure I can change them as they are my local one but i'm thinking of complaining , someting I usually avoid :oops: I'd love to know why my meds haven't been made available in time. Surely they receive enough each week?

Someone wnet to collect my meds today only to be told "They will be ready next week". This has happened before but i'm sick of it and feel like my health is being ignored. I have had two low readings over the last three days so i guess periods don't make my levels go higher. Since becoming Diabetic I suffer with awful night sweats the week of my period which I guess are due to hormonal changes as i'd never experienced them before. I hate them

I felt ill last night and thought I was having one of my "attacks" (been having them for 18 months but had to cancel H pylori test ) but decided to a reading even though i'd eaten foods I avoid- cake , chips , box of chocolates- and was probably high. I managed to climb into bed with some help...

I disagree with taking prescrtioins medicines home if you know you won't use them. I had some items taken off recently as I didn't want to waste NHS resources and surely if you are working you can afford the odd packet of strips..Just sounds like an awful waste and i'd love to know how much...
