    Celebrating real foods

I find this to be a great meal, bacon, eggs, tomato fried, then throw an avocado in. It’s delicious and quick!

    2020/21 Football Season.

I think I’ll go and watch if I could. My team (Colchester) only get around 2k fans anyway and I managed one game in December.... the protocols in place meant I felt very safe and could watch the game with very little risk to myself. It helps that 2k people in a 10k west stadium mean there is a...

    Covid vaccine

I honestly didn’t even know I’d had mine! I looked away and the woman had to tell me it was over! I was anxious about it as well so I totally can relate!

    Covid vaccine

Over 24 hours now since Pfizer jab. Sore arm continues although it really is mild, I wouldn’t lay on it tho. I feel very tired suddenly last night but that only lasted 2 hours and when it came to bedtime, I just could not sleep at all! Struggled to nod off but I have to say, so far today I feel...

    Covid vaccine

So i had mine this morning at 9am but it was the Pfizer vaccine which surprised me! I was expecting Astrazenica. Anyway, the process was incredibly smooth quick and Easy. The injection was over in seconds and I didn’t even know it had happened. Five hours later and all I can report is the...

    Covid vaccine

It has been a long road for us all. Especially us diabetics. I feel so torn... I should be happy Kim getting the vaccine.... but instead I am so nervous. Hopefully it will go well and I won’t suffer any adverse reactions. I feel motivated by the stories shared on this thread which are...

    Covid vaccine

I have booked mine for Wednesday morning. I have to say, I am feeling very anxious about it. I tend to avoid medicine if I can.... rarely ever take painkillers even when I have headaches etc. Didn’t react well with Metformin so stopped that. Also intake citalopram 20mg per day. My latest hba1c...

    Little idea for a tasty alcohol-free & diabetes-friendly beverage

Hi Jim, thanks for that. Why wouldn’t you go overboard on sparkling water? Is there a health reason for that or purely because of the taste?! Thanks, Jon

    New type 2 carbs/blood glucose/exercise

Testing was the single most useful and powerful tool in my dealing with T2 diagnosis. I tested like crazy at first but after a while you start to realise what you can and can’t eat. This really helped me to Change and manage my diet for the better. I also recommend reading the diabetes code by...

    Type 2 Flatbread slip up

Ok brilliant, so now it’s working the next 12 days will be interesting. That 10 is a bit worrying but obviously rice is going to do that. I had a takeaway curry last night and made cauliflower rice at home with it. Was amazing. Forgot to test but this morning was 5.9 finger prick test so hope I...

    Type 2 Flatbread slip up

How frustrating?! That’s disappointing. Maybe worth starting a new thread to see other people’s experiences? Fingers crossed it settles down and gives you readings you can trust. Did you have rice with your curry?! A new curry place opened at the end of our street. We’re thinking of getting...

    Type 2 Flatbread slip up

Yes! I agree that it is so frustrating how random the readings are.... I tend to categorise them into 5-7 Ok range.... 7-8 better do something an 8+ you’ve been an idiot again. I tried three back to back tests once and they were all over the place. However, I have now learnt that chips and...

    Type 2 Flatbread slip up

Ah yes a walk would have been a good idea!!!! I was very flat out with work today and stress would definitely have played a part I imagine. Just checked 5 hours later and down to 6.4. Have a headache as well now. Oh well, time to start thinking about dinner and I’ll be very good!!!!

    Type 2 Flatbread slip up

Yes! I have been so good and resisted so many things, countless times in last 6 months..... but I just crumbled.... Fearful for the damage it may be causing on my body but I’ll have to refocus my efforts now. Three and a bit hours I’m logging 8.8mmol..... I hope it’ll return to under 6 soon

My lunch today came with a free complimentary flat bread. I looked at this bread for a while and made a poor decision to eat. Gone from 5.4 to 10.9 at the last check 2.5 hours later...... Wwwhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyy??????
