    Blood levels

Hello Kirsty, Sorry to hear your nurse isn't much help! What was your blood sugar before going to bed? Could it be your background that needs adjusting and the hypo from over correcting? Have your been doing the same ratios and only just starting to get erratic blood sugars? Is anything...

Hello Joe, Sorry to hear about the diagnoses, must be frightening at the moment, it does get easier! Does she normally have a snack and her blood sugar stays in range? If so i would suggest only injecting for the 20g, it is very much trial and error if she runs a little high you know for next...

Wow well done on the drop in your a1c!. I was diagnosed at 17 and had always been naturally slim all my life so never worried about what I ate. When diagnosed my diet wasn't the best but I always counted my carbs so my a1c has always been good. At the beginning of last year my consultant put...

Providing you get a tighter control on your a1c I see no reason why you shouldn't go on to have a healthy pregnancy[emoji5] I'm 25 this year and two people I went to school with have type 1 and have both had healthy children and I know they have both struggled with their control so gives us hope!x

    Newly diagnosed & hospitalized

Also forgot to mention at the moment whilst in hospital you will probably be on a set amount of insulin based on your weight. Carbohydate counting will start once you're home and you will then start to see a drop in your blood sugar

    Newly diagnosed & hospitalized

Hello Erin, I am sorry to hear you're having a bad experience. There is no such thing as a diabetic diet. It looks as though you're a type 1? Your insulin consumption is based on how many carbs you consume. Your injection should also be given around 10-15 minutes before eating. Im from the...
