    I phoned the drs this morning about my foot. I spoke to a nurse (not diabetic nurse) and she said it is safe to wait wait for my appt with diabetic consultant. Ok, but doesnt stop me worrying though!

    Thanks for the advice. I live in a small town and we dont have a walkin clinic. But i will check my foot tomorrow morning and then phone and speak to a nurse. My GP and the other drs are all very nice except when I refused to give up smoking!! They dont seem to be phased by my seeing them a lot...

    I have had type 2 for two years and am insulin controlled. When I infomed DVLA they gave me a lisence for 1 year! that ran out in July and am STILL waiting for new one to arrive!

    I was told by my dr to inform my dentist. When I told the dentist he said it's good they know just in case you have a hypo in the chair.

    Thanks totsy. I had less carbs last night and my reading 2hrs later was 7.9. At bedtime it was 5.7. So am doing ok so far.

    Lantus dosage

    Hi Thanks for your reply. I have wholemeaj toast and a banana for breakfast. I do get the occasional hypo, usually mid-afternoon. Most people I have spoken to use 15 or less units, this is why I am concerned.

    Lantus dosage

    I am a type 2 diabetic on insulin. I currently take Novorapid (4 units at breakfast, 8 units at lunch and 16 units at dinner) and lantus 46 units at night. I also take metformin. Is 46 units of lantus too much. I sometimes dont need my insulin at breakfast.
