    Libre 3

That’s really helpful & interesting. Thank you. I also like TIR because of the “reward”. Of course, we should pay more attention to HbA1c but that moves less so isn’t as much fun. Those negatives wouldn’t impact me. The positives sound great. I like the idea of not scanning, meaning I could...

Hi there Trying to find out if anyone in England has been supplied with the Libre 3 yet? If you have I would be interested to find out how you got it & how you are finding it? Thanks very much

Coffee mate does it spike blood sugars

Could be the coffee causing it. It’s not a calorie dependent mechanism. It’s to do with coffee/caffeine stimulating adrenaline release making the liver dump glucose. Even black decaf makes me blood glucose increase.

Hi there For those of you who haven't yet gained access to Libre 2 or other "flash/intermittently scanned glucose monitors" here is the current NICE guidance...

    Running with or without insulin

Hi @Run Allan Run How are you getting on? I run 5km 3x a week. I have steroid induced diabetes & basal-bolus (NovoRapid & Lantus) plus metformin. Have found it's best if I omit the bolus dose before my run & let my glucose run high (above 10). Otherwise I "bonk" towards the end of my run & it...

Type 1 Low bg in the night

This happens to me if I lay on the arm where the sensor is. I do so much less often now. You'll know if this applies to this situation yourself. If not, then check using your conventional meter & work backwards from there: time of last meal & accompanying bolus dose, basal dose, patterns over...

United Kingdom - Freestyle Libre 3 - Whatever Happened to the Freestyle Libre 2?

I use the Libre 2. Whilst it has it's limitations it is a vast improvement on finger pricking. The hypo alarms helped me learn I was going low at night, despite my standard meter readings before sleep & in the morning being in range. I am also now getting the feeling back in my fingertips. My...

    Freestyle Libre on prescription

Great to hear others are benefitting from Libres. They are life changing. When finger pricking I was mostly on track. Trialing a Libre helped me discover I was going low whilst asleep. The more complete picture has helped me tweak my diet, exercise & insulin bring down my HbA1C. I agree...
