    Cholesterol Down - Target Lowered!

    Background retinopathy

    HbA1c

    I asked my Consultant once about HBA1C tests at different Hospitals, he said "good question". Never seen any indication whether the methods of testing are even standardised. Can some expert reveal more ?

    I hate Diabetes!

    Think DAFNE puts some logic into the treatment of Diabetes. After 34 years of chasing insulin and other wacko advice, the last 3 years have'nt been too bad (ie NO crashing hypos). Certainly was a life changing experience I could have done without though.

    If you have complications - do you blame yourself?

    So far no major complications (37 years- Type 1), more through luck than judgement. Apart from the last 3 years under DAFNE, I always felt the treatment for Diabetes was way wrong, even with the limits of the past. Would never blame myself for the result of medical treatment shortcomings.
