    Type 2 Testing strips, where to get them?

    I get mine from amazon. I just purchased the contour next as my old meter and strips have been discontinued. If you can get your numbers down through a low carb diet you MIGHT NOT have to test as frequently IF you are not going to be put on meds.

    That’s what I’m trying to figure out right now. How to calibrate it for myself. And set a personal target number. I think my old meter is low and the new high. So I’m going to keep trending both for 50 strips and analyze it. I don’t want to hypo but I don’t want to be running high either so far...

    I eat vlc and bolus for half my protein. So 30g of protein I would bolus as if it were 15 carbs, just like @the thrower. In the absense of carbs we will gluconeogenisis. It could be different if an isolated no carb meal but mine are always ultra low and protein will raise me just like carbs...

    Yes. Most times we cross check mine is low. The A1C says I average 100 and my meter readings are rarely over 100 which is why I believe the new one is more accurate.     I am very low carb so I do take insulin for half my protein. If I eat three oz (21g) I count it as 10 carbs. If you’re low carb you will most likely turn protein into bg in the absense of carbs through gluconeogenisis

    Yes. Strangely ( but not for me, I always get the opposite of what it’s supposed to do) it GIVES me cramps and insomnia. Both of which it’s supposed to help! I get the, when I eat pumpkin seeds which are very high in mag.

    I have the same one but no egg. 1 tablespoon olive oil and 2 tablespoons water. I live them with sage and oregano. I love them too much so stopped making them. They did freeze well but tasted just as good straight out of the freezer! Good but not good

    Was it a very high fat meal? In MY opinion those numbers are still on the high end. Do you have any idea how many carbs you’re eating per day?
