    Endo appt, Jardiance/ Empagliflozin ?

I still think a blog or just a diary would be useful. Do you track everything, exercise, calories, weight, etc or just carbs. Do you know how many calories your eating on average a day? Have you worked out how many you need? If your goal is to lose weight, diet works best followed by exercise...

    So tired...

I was reading this forum long before I started posting and have found your posts very helpful. Your right about motivation, its been scientifically proven we all have a limited amount and you've been using all yours on others. Do something for you for a change. For me it was getting a dog (two...

    Confused newbie

If the one constant is exercise, find a way to fit it into your life. Start by walking. Cholesterol is more down to genes that diet. Most of it is made in the body by the liver rather than the foods you eat. In your case and from what your saying, Think of it as Low Carb Healthy Fats, not just...

    Glucose Testing

Sounds like what your doing is working. BG shouldn't get too low unless your on meds, its usually due to a rebound of taking too much for what you've eaten.. I ordered one of these http://spirit-healthcare.co.uk/product/tee2-blood-glucose-meter/ just to try one really. It was free along 10...

    Type 2 Muesli for breakfast

I've not been able to find any that aren't 70%+ carbs so haven't thought it to be an option. What % carbs is the one you have? Saying that I think the important thing is what it does specifically to your BS levels not what it does to others. Compared to something like a few eggs for breakfast...

    Endo appt, Jardiance/ Empagliflozin ?

I don't have any first hand experience of it. Take it you have already seen this http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-medication/jardiance.html If you don't need it for BG control then I wouldn't take it for weight loss as its not designed for that, it just might be a side effect. I think your...

    Newly diagnosed with high levels....

http://spirit-healthcare.co.uk/product/tee2-blood-glucose-meter/ TEE2 meter is free, has cheap strips and I received one next day. You could start with one of these while you decide if there is a better one for you. Metformin wont do loads just take the edge off your numbers, diet is where the...

    Could this be neuropathy?

Either way tell your doctor and try to control your diabeties the best you can. Worry about the things you can change, whether it is or isn't do what you can, and if it is stop it, if it isn't stop it. Get control and it may go away or at least not get any worse. Get as healthy as you can be...

Bfs cheated on me... can't eat.

How did you you find this out? Did he tell you this or someone else. Don't do anything until you find out the truth. If it is true then the toast you have just eaten will feel more important to you than he is within a matter of weeks, despite how you feel right now, your better off without him...

Rice - In Coconut Oil, Cooled & Reheated?

Rice has a specific bacteria that isn't killed by heat. Ready meals have a additive that kills this bacteria. This is why rice can not just be reheated without the risk of food poisoning.

T 2 What is the best evening snack to keep blood sugars even overnight? I'm wheat intolerant.

How are you at cooking. I make a batch of, biscuits, brownies, cheese cake, crisps. Type in "keto" or "low carb" followed by whatever you feel like into a search engine. A batch usually lasts me a week but depends on who else is eating them. I'm about to try low carb brownies now.

    Can I rant here, please?

If it was me, I'd give him what he wants,if he doesn't want your help be a hinderence. If he wants food make him get it himself, cook it himself. I'm guessing you and your mum have been doing everything for him. Stop. He will get plenty of exercise shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry etc. I...

I think I may be a type 2 diabetic but

It's not something that means eating too many chips one Saturday night will result in instant death. Abusing yourself over the long term and relying solely on medications without looking after your general health will result in complications. I think of it that I'm a Ferrari and therefore I need...
