What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

You might get a better response from your post having it's own thread. I didn't know Hava was having an app. I am on their mailing list, but I guess I must have missed the information. I was curious if I could afford joining Hava, it does sound rather good as anything that comes from Diet Doctor...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Nothing to eat today till an early dinner at 4.30pm. Moroccan lamb tagline cooked for hours in the slow cooker, served with sauteed cauli rice. Never had this before, it's now going to be favourite. I might have a chunk of coconut cream block later, but that depends if my teeth get itchy.

Thank you for the recipe, the pancakes appear really adaptable.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

When I tried to 'mill' some flaxseed my food processor would hardly grind them, but the liquidiser did a good job. Yes I was shocked about making a ricotta type cheese, I can't taste the difference between what I made and Boursin.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thank you @Annb. Yes, that's more or less what I did, although more slapdash I'm afraid, I did use the juice of a lemon and around a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (though you can't taste them in the ricotta). I had about 3 pints of whole milk that needed to be used. The milk went in a large...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Oooooo so many lovely dishes. It's not too bad being low carb is it. Found a little nugget re making DIY onion and garlic powder today, apparently if I save onion and garlic skins, even though they are very papery, wash them (to get any chemicals off them - or buy organic), dry them thoroughly...

    Weight problems

Think there's a controversy in play, I've just looked on Google to check because I didn't think a cashew was a legume. From what I understand they are neither a legume nor a nut, from what I've read they are a drupe which is the same as a coffee seed apparently. (BTW I'd never heard of a drupe...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thank you for the link. Gary Taubes' book 'The Big Fat Lie' first opened my eyes about fats. I'm being haunted by recipes where people have said "After xx years of searching this is the best low carb version of bread..... blah blah'. As I had to make hubby a sourdough loaf, I thought I'd have a...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Thank you for the link, an interesting read. Though I'm not convinced by the article due to what is said about keto. But it could be right that I'm not drinking enough and that's the reason for plateauing. Thanks for your thoughts.

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Thank you @LeafyArts - there's lots of inspiration on this thread from some great success stories. Saw this on FB, so not sure if it's an accurate analogy, but it's food for thought.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

You're absolutely right! It's been such a long time since I made the 'mousse' I'd forgotten. Goes to show how habits can be naughty sometimes. Thank you for the reminder :D

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Now firmly back on the horse, afraid it all got a bit too much over Christmas, plus my two month stall didn't help with any resolve. So hopefully the stall has had a rude-awakening and my metabolism has kicked off losing weight again. I can only hope  Since last Friday I appear to...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Sorry I've not been on the forum since Christmas, but I'm now back on this horse after falling off. Think it's the first time I've come a cropper since 1st June. Now I've got about 25+ forum pages to catch up on. Midday had 2 back bacon rashers, sauteed mushrooms, half a beefsteak tomato...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Thank you all for kindly thinking of me, sorry I've not been so active. I'm afraid I failed miserably at Christmas for several days, but by New Years Eve I'd managed to pull myself together and stabilise again. Think anyone with a food addiction will understand. I also didn't want to confess my...

How much cheese is too much cheese?

I'm afraid I think you can eat too much cheese  . I suspiciously think I overdosed on it. Seeing that I've had several episodes of arterial fibrillation, the 'overdose' aka 'a cheese-fest' probably put me in hospital with a heartbeat of 130 that wouldn't drop.

    Hi From Bolton

Hi @rods1249 welcome to this forum, you've found a friendly supportive place to help you get rid of any carb induced brain fog. It could be that all you need is to change a few eating habits, such as swopping Walls sausages for higher protein ones, having home made Bolognese sauce instead of...

    Diagnosed last Friday

Sorry, hope not to confuse, Carb Killa bars have 30g of polyols carbs, we can't digest those, as we can't with carbs from fibre.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thanks for you reply. Sadly most of us need to react to symptoms instead of being proactive regarding vitamins and minerals, not very scientific though. This morning I've started taking a B12 supplement, and I've also been looking at nutritional yeast flakes, adding a spoonful here and there to...
