    Yoga

Thanks to be honest I started teh yoga as I had chronic lower back pain from running/rowing/cycling. Dropping one session of one of those in favour of yoga was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Ooh my!:wideyed: I've only had it an afternoon and I'm already impressed. Initial set up very easy, cartridge, cannula and tube prime etc all good, TBR easy to set for the ride home, 24 x 1 hour basal rates easy to set. Let the fun begin.

    Lots of unexplained lows

Could be both are wrong, but if it's consistently low at the same part of the day and low pre-meal I'd start looking at the basal first. If you are seing a more random pattern of the odd low here and there post meal, then I'd maybe look at carb counting and ratios, but until you get the basal...

Do you ever confuse symptoms of hypo with hyper?

Bearing in mind my targets pre meal are 4.5-6 and post meal <8, I'mnot talking about a abig variation here, but mild high symptoms, 8-10 can be similar to mild hypo with a bit of light headed fuzziness and dry throat I can't go by hunger, I'm always hungry. Significant hypo symtoms like...

    Steel Cut oats

    thanks, didn't see that one.

    Steel Cut oats

Both H&B and Tescos/Waitrose sell the cut, rolled oats, not the plain cut oats. I was looking for the cut, not rolled version that need plenty of cooking and would hopefully be very low GI. I currently use the whole rolled oats which give me a gentle BG rise, but I think the finer cut and...

So I shouldn't have given myself a mental fist-bump when I broke my personal headstand record this evening:)

    Roche Insight Pump

Thanks for that. I reactivated the cellnovo handset today so I could write all the settings into my notebook ready for Monday. Will take that on board about the basal segments. That was one area the cellnovo was good at, you could select one hour an dcopy it across as far as you wanted...

USB is USB, makes no difference. You can charge it from a car socket, from a laptop etc as long as the doofer has a step down transformer to the USB 5V output. That's all the thing you plug into a socket does. It might just take a bit longer is all, I frequently charge things from my laptop...

    Work woes

Considering that I can be either riding a bike or running, stop to get the test kit out of a pocket or camelbak, test and start again all in less than 2 minutes (that's when my Garmin alarms) this is absolutely appaling. I would also consider getting an H&S rep involved as they can hopefully...

    Insulin ratios

As NH adn DD have said, it's a rule of thumb, adn a starting point for your iterations to go from At least they waited until you on the course to change your ratios. Prior to my DAFNE course I was told to change from my 1:20 ratio to 1:10 which I flat refused to do as it would have left me...

    Yoga

My yoga teacher would probably say soemthing along the lines of you having the wrong aim for the practice in that case. Like you, I'm a bit goal oriented, i.e. want to be able to do xyz asana or pose and get frustrated when I cant. His view is of the practice as a prayer with the inward focus...

    Roche Insight Pump

Downloaded the manuals to read over the weekend. Already impressed with the options and versatility of this one, such as logging pen boluses on teh handset, multiple time settings for BG targets etc. I think my brain's going to hurt on Monday.

    Honeymooning?

Exercise will also help prolong the honeymoon. I'm not sure why, but I can speculate that you are using other glucose transport mechanisms and using fats as fule as well, so perhaps giving the pancreas a bit of a break. 18months in I think I'm still in the honeymoon period as well with quite...

Why does insurance prioritize the pump over CGM?

The way I look at it is this on MDI, to exercise I have a choice either 1) reduce basal or bolus or both preceeding exercise and go high as a result or 2) keep basal and bolus the same and go low, resutling in a need to eat more carbs, even for short duration exercise with the pump about 1-2...

    Yoga

I started doing it years ago, pre diagnosis mainly for the flexibility improvements. I'm a runner adn cyclist and also spend time sitting in cars, planes, trains etc all of which tend to lead to tight hamstrings and then other issues. In terms of diabetes, if I'm far enough away from the last...
