LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

Thanks. I’ve phoned surgery and hope to speak with the dr to see about referral/s. Think I’d just like to get a definite answer on type because at the moment it seems like guessing. I do fully trust my nurse but just want solid answer to be able to manage right decisions. Thanks

LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

I am not sure if she can, I will have to ask when I re-book with her after my holiday. I think that she does have the ear of the drs. They do listen to her because of her experience and length of time she has worked in the practice.

LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

Hi, She said a T1 1/2 , a LADA, Im not remembering what the letters stand for. NHS ha ha, sadly I’d be waiting for months and months. She is very knowledgable and we get on really well, I feel that she feels very self confident she can see the patterns. I wore a CGM the last couple of weeks...

LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

Hi I have just had an appointment with my Diabetes nurse. Looks like I’m not a classic T2 but maybe a LADA! I was an emergency admittance to hospital in June 2021, very high HbA1C 138! Reading your explanation sounds similar to mine. I am Low Carb with Empagliflozin, swim 3x week and also aqua...

New HbAc1 figures up on low carb for last year?

I can relate to your experience, I was diagnosed T2D in July2021. Was strict low carb. Still low carb but not as strict, I haven’t cut out every carb. Life is difficult enough and I’ve other wretched health problems as well Not due to the T2D, a complex mixed bag Yes lots and lots of...

    Carnivore diet

My diet is Low Carb, high protein. Taken this route 3 1/2 yrs ago when suddenly developed T2, no symptoms or indications. I have my theories why and how. It’s a daily struggle to keep numbers as low as I can and still live an ok life. Find I’d almost impossible to eat out as tbh no one caters...

    Needing some advice.

I was diagnosed T2 in July 2021 I understand. I get real down occasionally with it all. I eat low carb, not NO CARB. Its bad enough having to really restrict what you eat without being a saint There is such a Thing as ‘Diabetes Distress’, yes definitely, this is where you get REALLY fed up...

Has anyone’s cholesterol gone up doing LC diet?

Mine went up too, I will not have statins, end of. You may find that your good cholesterol level go’s up, this is the only reason my nurse is not persuing me to go on statins. She knows I won’t anyway.

    HBA1C 9.6

I didn’t get on with Metformin, nurse changed me to Jardiance. I eat quite low carb not ’No carb’ but had to almost really restrict potato, rice and past and bread etc. Numbers fluctuate and it depends on a lot variables like exercise, water, sleep, anxiety etc Drives me potty

    Fungal toe nail

I’ve the same problem, at first it was the 2nd toe on one foot, this toe had always grown split since a small child, a man trod on my foot! Then gradually other toes have gone the same, some not as bad as the smaller toe. There’s nothing you can do really, as is said, medication is very...

    Gastric reflux question

Too much fat!! Pasties and sausage rolls are heavy in fat, I’m not surprised at issues. Also make sure you are well hydrated - water. Stomach problems can be not enough hydrochloric acid to deal with the fatty food. We are often given antacids, as we age we may not produce enough hydrochloric...

    First CGM

I’ve tried the Libre 2, my diabetes nurse decided to get me a couple of sensors to see what was going on with my levels, T2’s don’t get them on prescription unless your on insulin, I think. So, I ended up pricking as well, only 2-3 times a day as I wasn’t sure the readings were right with the...
