    Absolutely fed up

**UPDATE** Back at the GP today for the results of the blood tests she took on Wednesday and still nothing showing up. She did have a look at my thigh though and thinks it is possibly a trapped nerve, but I have to keep an eye on it as the symptoms might also be shingles, so have to watch out...

If you were away from home without your hypo kit...

Now I don’t leave without Jelly Babies, although I may have to rethink them as I am going right off them and the usual cure of 3 is sending me rocketing in the other direction! I am lucky that I get plenty of warning when hypos are coming on and it happened in NYC a few years back, so I grabbed...

    Libre Allergy?

@urbanracer I completely understand and I didn’t really expect to get the information out of them, but I thought ‘well you don’t ask, you don’t get’ but it was more him just repeating his script over and over and his denial of any issues that got on my nerves. That MSDS sheet is an interesting...

    Libre Allergy?

Spoke to them again today and they completely deny any allergy issues, according to the chap I spoke with no one has been allergic to them at all! One quick Google search or look on here proves otherwise. Tried to get it out of him what the filament is made from but he kept telling me to consult...

    Darn it! Latest results

Exactly what I was going to say, only Jim managed it in a better way than I would have. I can have a 3mmol difference testing fingers from different hands on the same meter, doing them one after the other, so it’s definitely not an exact science, so don’t beat yourself up. I also seem to...

    Absolutely fed up

@Norfolkmell Funny you should mention fibro, one of my best friends has it and has suspected I might have it for a while as if I have a really full-on day, or go to a gig or such it can knock me on my backside for days. I’ll have a look at Co-enzyme Q10 on Amazon, thanks. Although I haven’t been...

    Absolutely fed up

Just spoke to a lovely diabetic nurse from RIE, she hasn't personally heard of anyone being allergic to the Libre other than skin issues, but she has advised me to remove it. Poor girl got the whole overwhelmed whine from me too and she has advised me to call my GP back as I spotted another...

NHS and the dreaded libre allergy

I haven’t had a skin reaction (yet) but I am working with the doctors and other professionals to try to figure out if I am completely allergic to it as two weeks after I started using it I got pretty unwell. I didn’t think anything of it at the time as there was plenty of bugs doing the rounds...

    Absolutely fed up

Just back from seeing the GP, luckily my appointment was with the female doctor that I really like. She really listened and I didn’t feel rushed, she has signed me off work for another week, has taken more bloods to try to get to the bottom of what is going on, however she did say that there’s a...

Freestyle Libre Poll - Have you had a skin reaction ?

@Diakat A pump is also on my question list (can you tell I have been doing a LOT of reading on this forum?), I always thought I would be a bit funny about being attached to something 24/7, especially given how accident prone I am, but the benefits seem to definitely be worth it. Apparently my...

    Absolutely fed up

That is on my list as the Novorapid is getting ridiculous, I dread to think of the spikes I have had in the past! It might not make a blind bit of difference but at this point I am willing to give anything a go. I also have it all logged on the Libre so the injection times are all there along...

    Absolutely fed up

Thank you, I’m going to keep seeing him until I get this sorted out as it can’t go on, I feel my life is on hold right now. Foot on the floor is my blood glucose staying pretty stable overnight until I step foot out of bed and then it rockets upwards. One morning I was 5.6 when I woke, then I...

    Absolutely fed up

Not sure where to start with this, but I have to get it off my chest. Bit of background, I am type 1, diagnosed age 12, now age 36, so 24 years of diabetes so far. I had ok control during my teens, but I know things could have been better. Not 100% sure what triggered it but one day I just...

    Flights

That’s it totally, go prepared for any situation. I have experienced lovely security staff as well as some horrible ones, but that’s life really! Once going through Edinburgh I was trying to stuff something into the one plastic bag and a member of staff came up to me and said ‘medication? Pop...

    New to Freestyle Libre

I get lots of 3’s and crackers low readings from mine too, just back them up with a finger test and you’re good to go. I slept on my sensor all night last night and according to my graph this morning I was under 3 all night! Quick finger test told me I was actually 5.6.

    Foot routine

Like others have said, I don’t have a set routine, but I check them over every morning when I get out of the shower, while I am drying them. Just keep an eye on them and I try to wear shoes that don’t rub.
