    Caffeine and Type 1

Out of interest what coffee is it that does it? I've often thought coffee was sending me high but it's not consistent so probably down to something else...

Really puzzled by these sudden pre-lunch spikes!

Daft question, have you checked your bolus pen too? I think you mentioned a few corrections that did nothing, might be worth swapping the cartridge and see how you go...

If you're only going to be using them every so often you can get them off amazon for 20 quid a box https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00UYRX4IY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1488264304&sr=8-1&keywords=bd+microfine+needles+4mm (I'm not saying you should have to but if your surgery flat out...

    How's your day going?!

You know what the most annoying thing is? I always check I have stuff with me, even at times stopping off on the way to work to check. I just didn;t check there was anything in the pen / checker doh!

    How's your day going?!

Might be quite funny that! (if a bit specialised and they'd probably get it wrong...) Quite possibly, not really sure what sent me that high in the first place though so who knows! My libre is still saying 14 though so I'm going to see what I am before lunch. I'm thinking it would be better to...

    How's your day going?!

Nah it's more hassle than it's worth to go home, I couldn't get there and back in time anyway. Might re consider if I go high again but I'll just have a (very) low Carb lunch and go home a bit early.. I think they might be a bit funny about keeping medical stuff in the fridge here, someone might...

    How's your day going?!

Sooo I normally consider myself to be a well behaved and organised diabetic, today not so much! Woke up at 6am 7.2 (happy with that). Had my two rounds of burgen bread / bacon and my normal morning bolus and toddled off to work (after checking I had my checker and Apidra with me - always do...

Accu-chek mobile blacklisted by my NHS Trust

Still getting them here in the Midlands as well, wouldn't be surprised if they're stopped though, to be honest accu check don't do themselves any favours with this, the number of "meter error please retest" that the machine comes up with is a bit daft...

Just started Tresiba - bad experience

Hi @Peppergirl, could I just ask. Have you found much difference injecting Tresiba in the morning rather than in the evening? I was under the impression that as Tresiba lasted about 48hrs (supposedly) it wouldn;t really make much difference? How did you do the switch? Half in the evening then...

    Confusing reactions to insulin

One other thing to watch out for is to not change too many thing at once and once you do change something give it a day or two before deciding whether or not it's worked (various other things can affect your levels even if your doses are spot on...)

    Confusing reactions to insulin

HI @Adam.froud I may be being a bit thick here but if you're on 2u per 10g of carbs and had 4g carbs for breakfast wouldn't that mean 1u? (similarly lunch would work out at next to nothing insulin wise about 0.4u) tea looks about right based on the ratio, other meals look out by a factor of 10...

So what could be causing this then..?

Just to fiish the story off, after 3 glucose tablets and then 1 rich tea biscuit when I'd come back to 5 (libre had straight down arrow at the 2.9 reading so didn't want to risk it) I am now back at 10.3 and mightily annoyed! Matt

So what could be causing this then..?

I know! it does feel like honeymoon sometimes! I'm on Tresiba for basal and apidra for bolus (I have tried novorapid a few times but just spiked like crazy on it). I'm beginning to think it could be injecting into muscle... I was 6.7 before lunch at 1pm, had 3.1 CP for lunch and slightly...

So what could be causing this then..?

No not honeymoon (just half way through my 32nd diabetic year :)) No don't think it's the shower either I tend to shower in the evenings... It could be muscle I'm pretty thin I would think it would hurt a lot more injecting into muscle though? I don;t remember yesterdays injection as being...

So what could be causing this then..?

Hi All, After a bit of brain storming :) I've recently found that my levels have gone very unpredicatble for example yesterday I woke at 7.9 had my 2.2CP breakfast and 5.5 units to cover it (1 unit about 15 minutes before eating to try and stop the spike). Felt rough when I got to work and did...

    Type 1s: Advice wanted!

Thanks [emoji5]. I'm currently trying on Tresiba which is better than lantus and doesn't give me a bad reaction like levemir did. It does have limited flexibility though unfortunately. Still going to the clinic again in January so I'll see what they say [emoji5]. Thanks again!

    Type 1s: Advice wanted!

Thanks for that @azure, I wouldn't say often high more unpredictable (or unprofessional if you believe my auto correct) I'm fairly sure that my basal isn't really right but on what I'm on at the moment (7) I gradually go up if I don't move much during the day but I do drop by around 5 during...
