Struggling with daily control - any feedback/help appreciated please

I'm still not yet sure of the accuracy of the earlier numbers, as me recent hba1c went down a bit from about 3 months ago from 14 to 13%, and i did detail that the expired test strips and lancets may be a contributing factor to the high levels, which may also explain I feel hypo's in the 10-16...

Struggling with daily control - any feedback/help appreciated please

Ive recently changed insulin types, heres a picture of my glucose chart to give you an idea of how bad it looks lol i've given it a 4 week interval as it is on a trial basis, even though I got more of the insulin as I use a pen a week.

Petition to have freestylelibre on nhs

I'm not sure if CGM comes with a pump but you can get them on the NHS if you do some sort of 5 tests a day regime to let the hospital know you are willing to improve your health as theres something wrong with your medication or you are doing everything right but something is getting in the way...

Petition to have freestylelibre on nhs

the government assumes everyone is rich enough to pay £50 per week for these sensors, and whilst on the dole its impossible unless you have a relative or someone close to pay for you which is like asking someone else to pay for your illness rather than paying for their own, I don't want to have...

    I'm angry

I heard that coeliac disease is triggered the same way diabetes is, and can't knowingly be prevented by lifestyle as I think top healthy people still get it. May be just a stray gene that could have been passed on from your ancestors who might have had it but didn't pass it on to their great...

    Type 1 Caused by lifestyle?

I think vitamin d deficiency might be the trigger, closest as any theory gets really

    Cheat day

What other people call indulgence, I call everyday life. E.g. Every day I have at least 2 portions of food containing 2 of any of these things: chocolate, raw sugar, pastry, sugary fizzy drink (red bull, relentless, KA, cream soda). But if by indulging you mean not bolusing for it, probably...

Help, need examples of low carbs, not eating right foods.

I too find it difficult to find foods that are healthy, low in carbs and help me gain weight at the same time. But when I look for things that pertain to diabetes, there are always people who give advice on people losing weight not gaining it, not all diabetics are overweight, but that seems to...

    Anyone here got diabetic complications?

It's like with diabetes theres an increased risk of coeliac disease, I sometimes think that it is a relief not to have it but it could happen suddenly, just like a heart attack or other diabetes related condition, but i have myself convinced that I think about it, it won't happen, as usually its...

    Glucose meter

personally I would like an insulin delivery system built into the same device as the cgm Take a wristband for example: 1) it adapts to the size of your wrist and is fully flexible in that respect 2) a small cannula is attached to the underside of band where an external port is fed through the...

Toxicity of insulin due to phenol and metacresol

its like i read somewhere bananas contrain minute traces of cyanide and uranium which are naturally produced but pose no harm to the body unless you have like 50 at once at the point it becomes any close to harmful, believe what you want to believe

Freestyle Libre - what's involved & is it worth it..?

Feel better to what end? I have no job, no prospect of getting one, no effort is being made to help me get one, so therefore anything that I do to try and get better, something else just gets me down, except being unemployed isn't something that can be cured, its what the government controls not...

Freestyle Libre - what's involved & is it worth it..?

My hba1c has gone down a bit since then, last time I was on lantus as well as novorapid but now i'm just on novorapid, i'm fine with the set up i have going at the moment which is just injecting myself, only reason I complain about these new sensors and stuff is my dsn keeps lecturing me on the...

Freestyle Libre - what's involved & is it worth it..?

its now even more clear to me that they don't care about those who are unemployed and on low incomes, which the sensors take half the benefit money each fortnight leaving a pittance for food, electric, heat and water. All this fancy equipment: pumps, cgms, and now this sensor are reserved for...

    Hypo & Hyper Breathing Difficulties

I get this all the time, but mostly at night time when I sleep, but I think its mainly down to second-hand smoke which is impossible to get away from because the house is pretty much filled with it, no windows or anything would help as much though. Every time I catch my breath, even when i'm...

Does anyone else feel like a science experiment?

I stay out of the experiment by not testing but I always inject as I know that injecting is to prolong my life, not taking it will hasten my demise.

    University

From experience, universities aren't known to keep in contact or know about illnesses, disabilities or chronic conditions, I had a mental health councillor but it wasn't for diabetes, they knew I had it and the only people who would help me was the diabetic specialist nurse at a hospital 10...

    Continuous blood glucose monitoring (CGM)

My needles have recently got changed to a cheaper company due to funding so I think the system is getting worse, I don't think the NHS could afford this, probably due to the immigration crisis. On another note, I never test, last time I did was last year, this won't benefit me until the cure...

Lumps after Levemir injection into thighs

I always got lumps from Lantus myself, but I also have not found any difference when not injecting it even though I did always inject it into my abdomen, with my novorapid, rotating injection sites aswell.
