You don’t need to apologise for his appalling behaviour, do something about it now, you owe it to yourself, family and friends. Domestic Violence takes many forms. No form of Domestic Violence is acceptable.

    Driving After laser treatment

I hope the treatment so far has been very effective. You will need to get a medical ruling. I would assume it is dependent on the individual and I doubt they would have not told you before the procedure that having the procedure will make you ineligible from driving ever again. After most eye...

Weird levels today ? sick ? flu jab ?

When you guys eventually get this thing called electricity sorted out, so you have plenty at night you then get these fancy things called dishwashers (the mechanical sort). Then you don’t need to find an illness to get you out of doing the dishes.

Weird levels today ? sick ? flu jab ?

As this has moved a bit off topic, I’m in favour of vaccinations, chickenpox, mumps etc a big YES, the flu is a bit different, if the prevention makes you sicker than the illness, I will go for a chance at getting the illness. I know people die from the flu and if I had an illness that put me...

    Riding a Motorbike

Everyone is different, but I have never found adrenaline impacting blood sugars. I know a number of diabetic Skydivers and they haven’t had a problem either. After you have thrown yourself out of a plane often enough there is no adrenaline rush, but there certainly is if you are preparing to...

Has any used 200U insulin in their pump?

I can’t comment on high strength insulin, but when you go onto a pump you use about 20% less insulin. I was on 55uLantus and 50 Novorapid. I now get by with about 65u a day on a fairly high carb diet and quite good control

    Type 1 and sweating?

Define good control. I bounce between 3 and 15 mmol/l. My average HbA1c is around 6.5% so it’s not that bad. There are many people here who are much better, but is’s not that bad. I don’t smell, however plenty of deodorant just in case.

    Riding a Motorbike

I tied motorbikes. It maybe more to do with the clothing you are wearing. If find there is a relationship with temperature and BGL. You MUST wear the proper protective clothing, but being in the land of Oz we wear light weight well ventilated protective gear.

    Type 1 and sweating?

I sweat excessively. I got T1 as an adult and I didn’t sweat before without good reason, now I can be drenched for no reason. Even sitting in an air conditioned office, I can start sweating and not just from my armpits all my upper body.

    What equipment do you carry?

It all depends. If I’m within 30min from home nothing, apart from my pump and attached CGM. If a long way from home, battery, meter, strips and if overnight, insulin, reservoir and cannula set.

What do you expect from an artificial pancreas?

I AGREE I would add no external attachments are required, like a battery backpack and not temporary like the artificial hearts.
