Back to basics to get back on track.

Hi I'm ashamed to say that it isn't hard , I have just been really stupid . I've had a bad year , tennis elbow twice and a cataract operation , along with bad weather followed by it being too hot to be active led to inactivity and boredom. I started to eat a lot of Tesco Genoa cake too ... I got...

Can I just add that I've never taken insulin or any medication , not sure how that's on my profile , I'll change it.

Back to basics to get back on track.

Hi everyone , I used to be an avid poster on here and the forum and low carb advice changed my life and health for the better. Bit of background.. I was diagnosed type 2 April 2013, listened to the HCP and ate the healthy carbs etc ... Guess what it didn't help ... About 4 months later after...

    No longer diabetic

Congestion Moderator that's great . Yes I have people who would love me to slip up , why are people like that. I still get people who automatically think it's all my fault too , even though my Gran and my Dad were type 2 and they ate reasonably healthy ( not a lot of processed food in their days).

    No longer diabetic

Have to say that I couldn't have controlled it without all the advice and support that I got /still get from the forum. I hope my project plan will help others , it does summarise the advice from here . I know the carb level will be higher than some can tolerate . When I started I stuck to below...

    No longer diabetic

Thanks everyone . It's not easy , I've said a thousand times that I'm human and go off the rails . My Gran and Dad were both type 2 , they both ended up on insulin when they got older . I'm still diet and activity controlled. I disagree with my GP , I am still a diet controlled diabetic...

    No longer diabetic

What can I say ... diagnosed over 4 years ago , low carb diet for over 3 and now my Dr has said I'm no longer a diabetic . Great news I hear you shout but you know what I am diabetic , I may be in a sort of remission BUT to say that I'm no longer a diabetic isn't right . I don't want to be told...

I sustained my control for 3 years then went to pot after showing off about how good and controlled I was !!! To be honest I could until recently tolerate the amount of pasta I had . It wasn't loads and I had a lot of salad with it . I am more worried that my readings haven't come back to the...

    Back to basics

Oh I know , I've no idea why I ate the pasta , I can usually have a small portion and loads of sauce but the sauce was runny. The toast was burgen bread and lower carb and only I slice , I usually tolerate it well . I am a great low carb lifestyle advocate and shout about it whenever I can ...

    Back to basics

Hi after 4 years of controlling my diabetes with low carb diet and activity my BS has decided to rise . I have been a bit more relaxed recently but now in the zone to sort it. I've developed a plan for myself and I'm sharing it incase someone else might find it useful.

How long before I can forget about Diabetes?

Thanks everyone , I don't seem to have the same spikes as I used to but them if I go way over the carbs I move more . To be honest I don't want to say I'm non diabetic ( sorry for repeating Pipp lol ) , I know me and I think if I was classed as non diabetic then I'd go back to really bad habits...
