    Newly diagnosed with Prediabetes

I also think this page may help, same author as The Athlete's guide to diabetes: https://www.diabetesmotion.com/ Lots of resources on there.

What do you do during isolation?

I miss regular training so I'm doing my best to work out, morning yoga, pushups, kicks, situps, stretching, poomsae - when I can, morning and evening. Also been baking protein biscuits and low carb bread, preparing healthy low carb food. Researching more about sport and diabetes also took up...

    Newly diagnosed with Prediabetes

Heya and welcome :) I'm still quite new to everything myself but my main concern at the beginning was learning how it would affect exercise. I've compiled resources together, from other communities to articles to books: https://kyeorugitiger.wordpress.com/resources/ I recommend the book Your...

    Type 2 I don't like food

I miss chocolate so much! But I've started to get used to cocoa - hot water, peppermint tea and cocoa powder - almost like a mint hot choco :D Also just started making chocolate avocado mousse and chocolate cheesecakes, and chocolate protein low carb biscuits. At first it all tasted a bit...

    I don’t know what I’m doing [emoji17]

Are you exercising or walking at all? At the beginning before I started on insulin, walking and exercising helped me to get my levels down a fair bit.

    Newly diagnosed! Hi and help!

That's awesome, well done! For a while I tested 1h and 2h after food to see how it would affect me as often I was not as high as I'd expect after some meals and I wanted to find out how far up the spike went. Turns out sweet potato is good for before training, same for bananas. I got away with...

Finding a doctor to get safely into low carb WOE

I think the only reason I survived the transition reasonably well is cheese. I miss pasta and pizza, and bread and croissons and pastry and.... But the fact I can eat cheese makes it all better

Xdrip and G5 - sensor not accurate

Hi everyone, I just started on the dexcom G5 last week, on Wednesday. Everything seemed to be going fine and I got Xdrip to work to get notifications to my Miband4 as well. One time I had an issue when I slept on the sensor and it suddenly showed really high values despite me not eating...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Update: Newly diagnosed - now as type 1

Hmm that's not a lot to go by. For me, I bought my own glucose meter as I wanted to know when and how food affected me and often tested 9 or 10 times a day, trying out food and exercise. I feel that helped me. There are tons of low carb nutrition ideas here, have a search through the forum. I...

Update: Newly diagnosed - now as type 1

Hi, sorry to hear, diagnosis is a huge shock isn't it. It depends on the values or units used, for example for me I had c-peptide 0.8 on a scale from 1.1-1.4. If your scale is the same, you'd be very high but often units or measurements can be different. My doctor also told me that you can...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Mine was 108.7 on the 16th of February when I was diagnosed and by 6th March I had already dropped to 86.9. Hoping to continue downwards quickly :D

So coronavirus is so deadly this is the nhs advice

Thank you @jjraak , I just found this on an expats in Korea facebook page, not sure if it was posted already but I hope it helps: https://coronainfo.uk/ Again started by 1 individual who is doing their best to compile actual resources and data to make this map, similar to the Korean version...

    Any tips for boosting motivation?

Heya, I'm in my first month of T1 diagnosis. I'd say find something you really care about. For me, that's martial arts and if I don't keep my sugar under control, my feet and eyes can be affected and even before it gets that bad, I know I can't train well if I'm not looking after myself...

Type 1.5 for more than 20 years

Wow 20 years! Can I ask, did you ever get any c peptide tests done and were you able to keep some of your beta cells? I am asking as I was just this week confirmed as type 1 (or 1.5, still got some insulin) and I am currently on a low dose of lantus/basal only - and I have hopes to keep it...

So coronavirus is so deadly this is the nhs advice

Eh, are you in Korea too and know what's happening here? There is no fear mongering, the map is incredibly helpful and although it was started by an individual, it is now the go to link everyone uses to track the movement of infected people and our emergency messaging system tells us which map...

So coronavirus is so deadly this is the nhs advice

No problem, will try my best :) The map was actually started by an individual, not the government. Maybe some tech savvy person can do the same for the UK too.

So coronavirus is so deadly this is the nhs advice

Sadly there have been reinfection cases,at least in China and here in Korea. Some people who had been declared as recovered caught it again, though it is not 100% sure if the cases were not fully recovered or really caught it again. Korea now has over 8000 infected people, the numbers...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.1 today. So many have morning readings around 5 here, I thought 6 was an ok number but I wonder if I need to look into what I can do to have it lower in the morning? I'm only on basal insulin in the morning so far (taking it 1h from now).
