    Needle Phobia

Well done you. I cant even think of giving blood and having something in me for a prolonged time. I do manage to have my bloods taken but it's always traumatic. It's putting insulin in that's that she issue. I am keeping my levels down through diet at the moment - but with vertually no carbs...

Thanks Winnie. I will definitely check that out. Good to know I'm not alone!

    Needle Phobia

That's what everyone keeps saying. A good friend (t1.5 also) gave me an old pen and some fresh needles to handle, a climate myself to and practice. I can handle it fine. Inserting it - no chance. I'm OK finger pricking. I tense up sure, I hover over the button for a while too. But one you...

My doctor is well aware. Her solution: type 'complex case' in my notes!

Was misdiagnosed as t2 three years ago.

    LCHF diet

Which is why I have it. Throw eggs, toms and mushrooms into the mix and I'm late for work. Very recently.

    LCHF diet

I wish I had time to prepare such a breakfast. I'm off work at the moment but usually I wouldn't have time for that. The wrap is my compromise for bread slices. It's not my favourite I admit but it's better than just bacon on its own. The wrap is my only form of carbon though - save for that...

    Does it get better?

Yup just read up on how they are attached to you - a small needle and tube constantly jammed under your skin. I actually burst out in tears.

    Does it get better?

I'm inclined to think otherwise. It's not needle specifically - it's the thought of anything being under my skin. This contributes to compulsive skin picking. An insulin pump would make my worst fear a constant reality as I would have something permanently in there. I'm cringing at the thought.

    Needle Phobia

Hi there. I'm currently awaiting results to prove I'm t1.5 not T2 as I've been treated for for 3 years (don't get me started on why it's taken so long!!!) Has anyone else here suffered with a fear of needles? If so how do you manage it or what did you do to overcome it? I litterly break...

    Does it get better?

Thanks so much for such an informative response. Encouraging too! I'm a needlephobic too. Sick of hearing 'you'll be ok' 'you'll just do it' they have no idea. Worst is 'hey at last you can have cake' i couldn't care less about cake if I'm honest. I want my life back. Having hypnosis for...

    LCHF diet

Thank you. I'm eating such low cars out of necessity as essentially my diabetes is untreated. It's very difficult indeed. I have one wholemeal wrap in the morning with my bacon which is about 20g and I only wrote upto 50g as it's impossible to track what's in my veggies. This lifestyle has been...

    Does it get better?

I have. It's where this post cam be found. That's very reassuring. I hope so. I can't live like this!! I've been existed for a while now but kept on going. I though it was the depression. The trauma. But that is something I have fully resolved now. Before I had diabetes I took on a part time...

    Does it get better?

Thank you Diakat. I'm currently keeping my levels low by eating pretty much no carbs - but this isn't sustainable or very much fun. So I'm not perfect at it. I guess I do know all of the things you have said. I just needed to hear it from someone else. I can't wait to have energy. I mean I...

    LCHF diet

Brilliant stuff What type of fats do you go for? SInce cakes and goodies are out sometimes I will have full fat milk and cream. I try and stick with natural fats so use butter over marg. I don't fry too much - just a bit of veg oil with my omelets (which I have often). Meat I tend to eat...

    LCHF diet

That's great. I really don't understand how high fat can reduce cholesterol though! It feels like I can't eat ANYTHING except chicken and cauliflower.

Thanks. Yes I've seen that claimed a lot too. However I confess that I'm struggling to see how.

    LCHF diet

Diagnosed T2 but very high chance T1.5 (awaiting test results) I've been observing a virtually carb free diet. I'm talking lower than 50g per day. I've had to or suffer high readings and all the thirst and peeing in the world. Low carb, low fat is near impossible so my fat intake has...

    Does it get better?

Hi there. I was diagnosed t2 three years ago. I've been on quite a lot of meds since then that don't seem to be working. A severe trauma and depression saw me not attend clinics for about 18 months but I remained complient with diet and meds. Since I've had therapy and got back to my diabetes...
