    LCHF - HOW MUCH FAT?

Hello Listlad, Thanks for your reply. Like you, I have always avoided too much fat and now I find it hard to change this and eat so much more. I have been eating, gradually more, since August last year when I joined this great site. I have an appointment with my Dr on the 14th of this month and...

    LCHF - HOW MUCH FAT?

Hello Aloe Svea, thanks you for your reply, Not sure how much fat I have at the moment, I am a bit like you, I cook with olive oil, use coconut oil and lots of butter. I make fat bombs with coconut oil, butter and peanut butter and have butter and double cream in coffee. Prior to Aug last year I...

    LCHF - HOW MUCH FAT?

Thank you Sally for your prompt reply. It is good to know you feel so good following low carb eating. It will make life so much easier if we can both eat the same meals although hubby still nervous about eating extra fat as he is on statins for his cholesterol. I love cheese so an extra slice...

    LCHF - HOW MUCH FAT?

Hello everyone, I wonder if you can give me some advice. Since September last year I have been using the LCHF way of eating. I haven't found it too difficult to reduce my carbs down to approx 20g per day but I don't think I am feeling as well as I should. Could it be that I am not eating...

3 mile walk with a wobble!

Hi Jaylee No, we had just popped out to buy a newspaper but then we decided to come home the long way. Perhaps in future I should carry my meter with me, even on small walks. Kind regards and all the best for 2019.

3 mile walk with a wobble!

I have just returned from a hilly and extremely windy 3 mile walk with my husband. After about 2 miles and at the top of one of the hills, I was really shaky, breathless and a bit dizzy. My waking bg was 5.1 as I was hungry during the night and had eaten nuts and 2 raisins. I had just finished...

    Reactive to exercise?

Hello Kirstyr. Welcome to this great forum, hope it helps you as much as it has me. I have Post Prandial Reactive Hypoglycaemia which I have struggled with since 1997 but was finally diagnosed in 2010. Once diagnosed I just floundered until I joined this forum. My main reason for joining was...

    Silly question?

Thank you Lamont for your really interesting reply, I find the more I learn about RH the easier it is to understand what is happening to our bodies and how to cope. Christmas this year has been different! I broke a tooth on 22 Dec, my dentist closed until 2nd Jan and it wasn't classed as...

    Silly question?

Hello Brunneria. Thank you for your kind reply. I am feeling much better and planning meals is getting a little easier as I know a lot of what I can and can't have. Also I am not having to test BG quite as often as I did in the beginning. Kind regards

    Silly question?

I have been sticking to 20g of carbs or less per day, in total, and it is working well. If for example I had 10-20g of carbs per meal x 3 meals in one day, would these carbs build up in my body or are carbs cancelled out with insulin at each meal? Just a thought as I have no intention of testing...

    Aches and pains

Here is an update on my BG. At 90 mins after eating my very small bowl of porage my bg was 6.5 and I was getting blurred vision so I decided to do 2 miles on my exercise bike and bg is now 4.8. Has my cycling used up some of the circulating sugar or released more insulin?

    Aches and pains

Hi Brunneira, It certainly isn't easy pinpointing what is causing my problems. The trouble is, when I am at my worst, I can't think clearly enough to work out what I should be eating!

    Aches and pains

Thank you Helen. I have been gradually cutting down my carbs and it is very infrequent that my bg goes 1ess than 4 or more that 7 but I am getting all these aches and pains and my thigh muscles seizing up. Very confused by it all at present.
