My libre alarm didn't go off

I'm newly diagnosed and have a libre. I'm sitting in a hospital bed right now with very high blood sugar levels because I was very low earlier today and I ate too much too try and correct the lows. Am I upset? Yes of course I am. I feel as though I've let all my loved ones down and I am on the...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Scratch that. I was probably in the 4s earlier today. Libre and contour both said so. I've had two hypos today and am now at 22 because I overcompentated with trying to bring it back up. lol (22 hospital reading). What can I do but accept that I stuffed up? Such is life Edit: this disease sucks...

Does going low in the evening affect the next day?

I was devastated when my DN said not to use chocolate to treat hypos because of the fat content. I want choccie!

Does going low in the evening affect the next day?

In fact I feel sick. I just wish they'd get here. Edit. although my BSL is in the "safe range" now I was very, very low an hour or so ago

Does going low in the evening affect the next day?

I think you might be right. My pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes it should. I'm too tired and waiting for an ambulance to look it up right now but I bet you're right.

My libre alarm didn't go off

Sorry I'm a bit dim at the moment, but what do you mean by "experiencing hypos at such a low level"? Before tonight I've never, that I've known, been below 2. Edit just scrolled back and I think the lowest I've even been is 2.1. I'm 4.8 now so it's going up. Probably didn't need to call the...

My libre alarm didn't go off

I don't feel hypos at all. I found out today that after a hypo I am very tired and have a headache but at the time I feel nothing :( Ambos still not here. Blood sugar is up into the 4s now though. This is twice today I've been below 3 Edit: Diabetic nurse has decreased my basal for exactly the...

My libre alarm didn't go off

Could I have been unconscious?! I live in a country area and the ambos are takinng forever to get here. I'm just typing randomly in the hope to stay awake. I had a hypo today at about midday but got bloods back up to 10.9 so I took my bolus for dinner thinking everything was ok. Before dinner I...

My libre alarm didn't go off

My libre alarm is set to go off at 4.2 mmol/L but it didn't. When I checked it said 2.1 (but contour 1.9). I can't get the BSL back up despite copious orange juice. But my question is, why didn't the alarm sound?

What is considered normal fasting blood sugar?

I'm waiting for an ambulance right now because my BSLs are in the 1s. So my response might be confused. I really think that BSLs fluctuating between 5.1 and 5.8 is normal. They're not, in my opinion going to stay at a steady, say, 5.5; they'll go up and down a little bit and your meter will...

Does going low in the evening affect the next day?

I'm only new to this but today was a complete disaster. I was "low" but I'm sick so had a banana for mid-morning snack. I took bolus dose... BIG mistake. I was hypo very soon afterwards and had a lot of trouble getting BSL back up. I've been relatively high (but within range) since then but I...

What is considered normal fasting blood sugar?

No offense intended, but I personally would not call 5.8 compared to 4.9 or 5.1 "significantly" higher. Maybe if it was 20 I'd call it significantly higher, but the difference between 5.8 and 5.1 is probably just noise

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

@DEBBIESCOTT 4.6 might be too low for me. I got driven to the Doctor (because of my nausea, not diabetes related and crashed into the 2s while waiting in reception. I have some tablets now so should be able to eat tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I'm in the 5s... 4s sound good but as I learned today...

    Type 3 Diabetic

The other thing I like about my libre 2 is that is has alarms. I don't feel any different when I'm having a hypo (although I do afterwards I've learned today). I'm sure the libre alarms have kept me out of hospital more than once. If the libre says I'm low, though, I always double check with a...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

4.6. I can say with confidence that this is around about where I sit at with basal insulin only because I've had no food or bolus for 36 hours... just water :(

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I make "pizza" with big field mushrooms as the base and the usual pizza toppings minus mushrooms because I already have a giant one forming the base haha. I reckon they taste like pizza

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Haven't eaten today either, still with nausea. Graph still flat but maybe a bit lower than I'm happy with (will see what Dr says). No bolus ('cause not eating) but I did have basal dose last night at 9PM. Dr appointment in a few hours
