    Changing cannula and bleeding

Some sets have a lot of stick on the white adhesive and can be a bit difficult to remove. Try using medical adhesive remover spray like Liftplus, Apeeel etc over the set and then it should pull away without any bleeding.

    Illness - temp basal?

Both my partner and myself have been fairly bad with a form of flu that started off as a cold, then sweating buckets, feeling really weak (death warmed up) and staying in bed for many hours with no desire to eat any food, or drink tea Or coffee and dealing with a painful hacking cough My bg went...

    Carb counting with a pump

The Vibe is only a tiny bit bigger than the Insight so will fit ok in the centre part of a bra vertically or at the side part of a padded cup. For special events, insulin can be given by pen if need be as a pump is only a battery operated insulin delivering device so no one is going to die if...

    Carb counting with a pump

As long as the dress has got a v or scoop neck, you should be able to put the pump inside the bra if your bra has padded cups and is a 34 or larger. If the pump has a bg meter that is also able to deliver a bolus by remote, then you can put the pump in your bra or inside your pants and not...

    My GP is beyond naff.

I stopped using the repeat prescription by placing it with a pharmacy to collect it bout 1 year ago. There were too many problems where the pharmacy hadn't done the prescription and didn't bother to notify me so I decided to place the prescription through the GP surgery using the repeat...

    Dexcom G5 and driving

I found that to give myself time to eat something whilst using the G4 with my Vibe, I set my low alert to 5.5mmol and my high to 10.0mmol. It takes me about 30mins to digest food so if I set the low alert to 4.4mmol, I would be approaching hypo before the glucose sweets had time to work

Using Omnipod pump with Dexcom G5 CGM

The only time I've seen loss of signal on my mobile using a G5 transmitter, is through using xDrip but this usually rectifies itself over 1 or 2 days using a new sensor. Once a few days have gone past, the sensor and transmitter behave and the loss of signal only happens if my phone is...

Type 1 Hypo at night despite snack

Get yourself on to an insulin pump and then you'll be able to adjust your midnight basal rate downwards so that you dont go hypo at 2am.

Type 1 Hypo at night despite snack

I always eat a snack before going to bed to stop going into hypoland when using mdi but I kept to eating a lower amount of carb for my evening meal so that eating a carb snack at bedtime would not cause me any weightgain. Using Lantus once daily at night was not wonderfully good and I needed...

    Air bubbles Accu Chek insight

You might need to look at the basal rates again to make sure that they don't need adjusting. Also, are you sure that no food has been eaten between breakfast and 10am as that will make bg go up

    Air bubbles Accu Chek insight

You could try putting the Insight in a trouser pocket and making a slit at the back of the pocket in the middle. That way the pump would be vertical and the pump tube could be thread through the slit in the pocket and join the Flexlink set.

    Air bubbles Accu Chek insight

Unfortunately air bubbles will be more common in Accuchek pumps than others. I always kept my Combo pump diagonal in my bra so that an air bubble would float to the top of the cartridge and not get into the tube. Keeping the pump vertical is a good idea but not sure if the pump clip allows...

60 YEARS ON INSULIN IS IT A SUCCES YEP

Lol my mum just boiled the syringe up in a saucepan of water every 7 days for about 10mins. That was the only sterilisation that was done. The syringe was kept in a tupperware container filled with industrial methylated spirit just to cover it. Every morning my mschoolsd the kettle and the...

60 YEARS ON INSULIN IS IT A SUCCES YEP

Snap.......there's loads of us about all well and not dead in our coffins. My brother thought it very entertaining watching my urine fizz up in a test tube and change colour. I was glad when Gillette did 5/8 in disposable luer needles so that I didn't have to re use the steel needles with my...

OTE="kimrooney89, post: 1568996, member: 345085"]Oh really? That's a fab idea! I would never have thought of cosmetic body glue :) Ive Used it for over a year and the nail vsrnish bottle is 50% empty so will do me for another year. I just use some alcohol swabs to remove any glue residue from...

Calculating Bolus: why ignore Mesl IOB?

The Vibe does this as well when my bg levels have returned to my target within 2-3hrs which can be because I haven't carb counted too accurately or have come back to target because of basal needing to be adjusted or because of food having a delayed effect with digestion. I usually use trial and...

    Struggling post lunch highs

Not wonderfully practical but it seems that Novorapid works best if injected about 45mins before eating a main meal as this gives it a kick up its rear end. I couldn't be bothered to do that simply because I never knew what the carb content was going to be until I saw it on my dinner plate and...

    Post DKA. Help.

Hope you feel a bit better once your bg levels have lowered. Pumps are great but when bg is high, then a correction dose won't always work within 4hrs unless it is increased...look at @ catapillar msg on the forum about high bg and climbing the ladder.
