So we already have 3 chains that do this so it does seem that this is available if you check before you go out just as I have to do with the gluten. I won't say it isn't annoying to have to put the effort in however at least with carbs you need an amount. With gluten I often find whole chains...

I agree they're too expensive if they go wrong and aren't replaced.

@tizzy. Exactly what I was doing but I had another meter and got a second one to be sure. Emailed Abbott and they have put a replacement sensor in the post - you can't fault their customer service.

    Pain and blood sugar levels

I've done work on recognising the signs and stopping the cycle of getting more tense when I feel pain making it worse but hadn't realised blood sugars could act as a warning. Real light bulb moment and even better that you have 2 years of proof. My pain has been dealt with very separately from...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Really interesting. I wouldn't recommend diabetes but now I have it I'm glad I've found a positive. Is it common knowledge or just something you find out for yourself if you measure your levels?

Maybe if we name restaurants that do on here...you always these days have an opportunity to do an online survey and you could put chose this restaurant today as I was told you showed carb count which as a diabetic is vital to me. For those that don't you say I was disappointed that you don't...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Yes. Because the pain is caused by the ligaments and muscles becoming inflamed I think the sugars are responding to the inflammation before I realise how bad it is. If that proves accurate then ice packs and stopping of some of the physio I do could be enough to reduce the length of the...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Yes they have which is how I've managed to start reducing the amount I take. The physio is also helping in maintaining as much movement in my spine as possible which reduces the pull on the muscles and ligaments. I have been lucky in the support I receive but in 3 years I've gone from being...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

My sugars were high yesterday too but the pain wasn't too bad - about a 5 for me. I wonder whether or not it was reflecting pain to come? Mine is caused by ligaments being strained so there would be inflammation probably before I registered the pain rising. @SockFiddler is there an emoticon...

I hope your symptoms improve - I have had great success with acupuncture which surprised me.

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Thanks. My guess is we may be a small sub group but that pain may cause us to either medicate incorrectly (brain fog) or because we corrected for levels when pain was high. The ice packs and diazepam have started working so not quite as frazzled as earlier. Had bacon and egg cooked for me for...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Many thanks. I have managed for 6 months without oral morphine but still take long acting morphine every 12 hours and was successfully reducing the amount. The pain pathway is not a pleasant one and knowing you are addicted is quite something to get your head round however I am at a dose level...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Hi Apologies if this sounds confused, I understand pain can raise your BS levels. If this is under control with medication does it still raise your levels or only when you get breakthrough pain. Logic tells me it's the latter but my BS levels whilst I am asleep seem to be rising but the pain...

Well done and keep it up just keep an eye on it, I did relax when it happened to me and turned out I did have a broken sensor - mid range readings ok, highs didn't register and lows were too low! Mine was the 30/9 batch that someone else has had adhesive issues with. It went faulty over a...

So just googled nutritional info for harvester and TGIs - both give carb content in grams. For me I become very ill if I eat gluten and there isn't a way to make an adjustment if I get it wrong so I always plan ahead. That doesn't mean I don't find some that don't have a clue - we leave at...

Yes I believe so in the UK. Even the take aways have to give all the ingredients. I will check when back in UK but I have yet to be refused the information. Most are very helpful. In the family run ones they usually adapt to suit you. In the chains most are pre plated so the carb count is...

Having to always get the nutritional breakdown as I must eat gluten free I have yet to find somewhere that doesn't show the carb content. It may not be printed on menus but I did think it was compulsory to have nutritional Info available now....

    chest pain

Hope it helps. Let us know how it goes and as long as he ruled out anything serious or heart then even if he doesn't give a formal diagnosis you can try some things to relieve the pain for yourself. Once I started referring to it as costochondritis instead of weird cramping in my side it...

    chest pain

So robaxin can be prescribed which is a non addictive muscle relaxant - I can take it with zomorph and oramorph. The shoulder pain in interesting - frozen shoulder is supposedly prevalent in T2 diabetics. My shoulder seemed to freeze and the physio diagnosed problems with the rotator cuff...

    chest pain

TBH the pain can be so severe it causes panic and symptoms like shortness of breath that can be associated with panic attacks including racing heart. Watch what sets it off - if it's leaning on a desk a certain way, when you've twisted around for something from the backseat of the car then I...
