Thanks to u all, ur comments are priceless!! Would loove to reply to each one of u, cuz everyone has made an important point: Charles Robin Hahaaha changes in mood? New Flash Glucose Monitoring from Abbott - Bloodless Testing

OMG this is what I've been expecting to happen since was 7 ys. old! But to my humble opinion, the price will be a little of an issue if is similar to a CGM (and I cant consider getting a pump). Ple@se (to the manufacturers) have in mind a few months after the release, making a version...

    New type 1 LowCarbers ~~

Been diabetic for 23 years but just starting taking care of myself since february. As a result, right now have mild retinopathy and a quite annoying right frozen shoulder! Nevertheless just recently actually understood the concept shown by american physician Dr. R. Bernstein. Just allow me to...

What do you class as high blood sugars

Indeed anything above 7.8 and u will need to change ur insulin dosages... Can increase the basal 2 units per day and remember the fast acting 20 minutes before eating. In fact if u are with an infection it would be better to reduce the amount of food, especially carbs :s Hope u get better soon!!

Let's play a game - Rules for Type 1 Diabetics

They basically have said them all... Put ur fast acting 20 mins before meals; try to replace common carbs with grains (oats) and if u do so drink a lot of water; write down all ur measurements with the insulin doses and the food eaten; if u go out for several hours make sure to take those...

Blood glucose meters which are the best?

I could tell u that the OneTouch is greatly accurate. Thats the reason I bought it, cause it showed the same results as the labs. The strips price though is a little higher :( but it is quite comfortable and has never given me any issue in the last 6 years. Best of luck!

    Bad hypo

Just remember that what brings u back from hypo land is the amount of glucose aka sugar or carbs that u eat... Based on years of experience chocolate, despite does have some sugar, is not the amount required to act fast enough. Chocolate also contains grease, and fats absorb much slower...

    Bad hypo

Oh my God u almost make me drop a tear... First time I see anyone who understands how much drained u feel after a hypo. My family doesnt get it; they are just so annoyed at me (they usually give me white bread with jam until I recover my senses) but to read this is so relaxing, to know that...

Hi! I understand you on how all the info available may play a bad trick on ur mind, but not all is so bad :) My daughter is 6 years old and she was born healthy thank God. You just need to become best friends with ur glucometer and have always at hand ur fast acting. A suggestion that worked...

    should you reuse pen needles

I'll reply based on my experience. Since dont have any kind of insurance and all my diabetes equipment must be paid in cash, for the last 15 years I've been reusing my needles (of course initially discartable syringes afterward pen needles). As long as it is a high quality one (I know Novo) you...

Suggestions to manage a control without strips?

I've a lot of years with a poorly or not taken cared type 1 diabetes. A month ago began to take care (beginning to eat the proper kind of food, adjusting my insulin dosage with my new doctor and monitoring my blood glucose levels). Nevertheless all of this took a lot of money and I dont have any...

    Insulin Dosages

Hi! I've been a type 1 for23 years. Youll see doctors not always are properly informed about this condition they are basically to keep you updated about ur analysis and follow ups. You need to learn to listen to ur body it tells u when ur BS is high or low. But regretfully unless u can calculate...
