    If you contact accu chek directly by phone just tell them a little about your dad's probs they will send you a mobile meter free just make sure doctor will give you test strips on prescription there quite expensive you will find accu chek phone number on diabetes web sites hope this helps if not...

    @Ken 62 will you be able too get test strips off doctor or are you buying your own?If buying yourself it's good idea to look on Amazon etc as a lot of there strips are cheaper then pharmacy's good luck keep looking on forum.

    Yes thanks for reply just done new blog I was looking at nexus meters and it seems they do a nexus voice meter so if I can find out if me nexus Rx strips work with this meter hopefully I can order one from company problem solved just hope they don't decide to change my test strips at doctors...

    Thanks for replying it was practice manager I spoke to when I got home phoned said the same as doctor no strips prescribed not surprised beginning to think I will have to be more forceful which is not in my nature seems it's the only way to get things sorted thanks again.

    Apparently my surgery don't issue any talking meter test strips I obtained my talking meter free from Apollo medical where it says test strips and lancets are available on prescription I currently use a nexus Rx supplied by my dsnwhich is a good meter just not good for me.
