What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

9.4 This after a bedtime snack of cheese so only 9hrs fasting. 5 cocktail sausages dropped it to 8.0 I am liking the results so far of my experimentation with meal timing!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I'm bouncing around like Tigger today for two reasons FBG 9.4 despite snack of some cheese before bed and consequently only 9 hours fasting. Was hoping not to have to give up bedtime snack as it helps me sleep - looks like I may not have to. \○/ Have eaten 5 cocktail sausages and will test to...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

10.6 first thing, only dropping to 10.3 after 90 mins without eating. Then ate a small piece of cooked pork - 1 hour later 8.1 Need to repeat experiment but this is promising. Busy day involving lots of admin. Must start packing for next week's holiday soon...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

9.7 today Delighted to be in single figures again, although this may not last. I've eaten a few spoonfuls of sandwich filler to see if I can reduce BG further. Even though I was hungry it's still a huge effort to force food down early in the day.

    Can you define profanity?

I'm too young to have heard Children's Hour, but old enough to listen mostly to Radio 4 these days. They have swearing now so I can't use them as a guide. It's such a minefield. I'm really not mod bashing, I don't know why some people think I am. I just want to understand the rules, or failing...

    Can you define profanity?

Thank you @KennyA So basically there is no list of swearwords because they're constantly evolving? How do mods decide whether a word or phrase should be disallowed? I'm genuinely perplexed because as far as I can recall I hadn't used a banned word until today, so I thought my standards...

Rant about diabetes review/ GP surgery madness

They're under stress themselves and just don't have or aren't prepared to make enough time for me to have a moan. Yay for small wins. I try to spot positives but I can't see any caused by removing testing supplies from my repeat prescription list. Except that it led me to discover a "request...

Rant about diabetes review/ GP surgery madness

The original thread is about my frustrations with my GP surgery. As OP I'm not too concerned by whether it drifts off topic, as it's not intended for anyone else to read for information about how to manage their own diabetes. If anyone wants to add a message of sympathy or practical suggestions...

    Can you define profanity?

I too have fallen foul of this rule and am confused as to what constitutes profanity here. A search of the forum has so far thrown up only this thread. Perhaps a less obscure guide could be provided? I would just like some clarification of the rules. (mod edit to remove breech of forum ethos)

    Access to testing supplies query

That had crossed my mind. The timing is rather suspicious though... In May, (while still taking Gliclazide) I was praised by "Nurse 1" for my BG record-keeping and lowering of numbers. In July, long after Gliclazide was stopped, "Nurse 2" looked at my spreadsheet of BG results. In no way did...
