    Just after eating

Hi @SueJB Bless you, thank you I guess I have just been so positive since diagnosis and maybe my emotions have been abit delayed. Plus it hadn’t really occurred to me the affect of after meal spikes, so usually I check 2 hours after and I am generally happy with that number but I thought I...

    Just after eating

Hi guys Newbie here So I have never tested myself just after eating and today I decided to see what happens just after I’ve had my dinner. So I started eating at 7 and I tested at 7.35 and found my blood sugar was 11.3. Before dinner it had been 8. My question is, is this normal or should it be...

Hi Marie ❤️ With the slow releasing carbs due to fat - as a rule of thumb - how much fat in a food/meal would you generally consider high fat and so bound to create slow releasing carbs?

Hey @CharlieType1Diabetic I am sorry to hear about your hypo How many grams of carbs are you having to treat it? You may have accidentally had too many carbs to treat it perhaps? So anything under 4 is classed as a hypo, although I absolutely appreciate that everyone and every hypo is different...

    Glucose sensors

Hi guys I am just wondering what sensors you use? I wanted the freestyle libre but it is quite expensive for the sensors each month at £100 ( haven’t asked my nurse yet but doubt I’d be eligible via nhs) does anyone use any others that are abit cheaper? I know some might say you can’t put a...

Gosh, sometimes i just feel like there’s so much to learn and will I ever really get it and be able to look after myself fully and not experience so many lows and highs all the time. Carb counting seems so easy till you throw in too much of this and too much of that you know? But that’s why I...

I just bought these new fibre 90 nut/cake bars but forgot to check ingredients, it said 1.0 sugar per bar and they are low carb so I thought would be nice for a treat now and again without insulin and I ate one on the way home. Stupid me, had malitol in it if that’s how you spell it which My...

Morning everyone, I woke up at 4.3 today, bit lower than usual. Looked at the news and can see that they have given out the first UK vaccine to a women called Margaret. I have just been reflecting back on this craziness since the first reports of the virus in December. I remember I was living...
